A few stills from a recent visit to

Founded in the 1140s as a Cistercian monastery, it grew into one of the richest religious houses in southwest England. After Henry VIII dissolved the monasteries in 1539, it was transformed into a stunning country home.

Today, it beautifully blends medieval architecture with later elegance surrounded by breathtaking gardens.

Featuring the highest powered fountain in England which can reach up to 49 metres tall!

I might, just might be working on a photobook for all these sites i’m visiting 👀

Would anyone be interested in this? A little piece to sit on the coffee table, or something like that…

This is Lacock btw! The birthplace of Photography (debated) and as you may recognise, some Harry Potter scenes were filmed here too in the old abbey cloisters.

Hestercombe Gardens

Shaped over centuries, these gardens are a living piece of history, where Georgian elegance meets the visionary designs of Gertrude Jekyll and Sir Edwin Lutyens. From the formal terraces to the intricate water features, every detail reflects the artistry and craftsmanship of a bygone era.

Some frames from a trip to last year.

With a short yet intriguing history having been constructed in the 19th century.

Mount Stewart, once the seat of the Marquesses of Londonderry, the property has a wealth of stories to discover, from possessing one of the finest flat race horses to ever live in Hambletonian, to hosting a visit from the German Foreign Minister in 1936 Joachim von Ribbentrop, yes the war criminal who was tried after WWII and subsequently sentenced to death following the Nuremberg Trials, and to this day the house holds a memento from Hermann Göring, which if you visit, you will be able to find.

Such an amazing time I had visiting this place, albeit limited by recent storm damages, I highly recommend it if you ever visit Northern Ireland and are looking to get a glimpse of some Northern Irish aristocracy and the stories and arts that accompany that.

What a beautiful day visiting on New Years Eve

Timeless elegance tucked along the Thames, Ham House feels like a preserved moment of the 17th century rich textures, quiet grandeur, and stories layered into every room.

A place where history doesn’t just sit still, it lingers.

From a medieval royal residence to a bold 1930s Art Deco transformation, Eltham Palace & Gardens tells a story unlike anywhere else.
Once home to kings, later reimagined by the Courtaulds, every room and pathway carries layers of history, design, and quiet elegance all framed by beautifully kept gardens that soften the grandeur.

Nowadays it offers a stunning interrupted view of the distant skyline of the City of London, its hard to imagine what this same view may have looked like almost 100 years ago when this property was reimagined into its Art Deco style.

I was accompanied around the gardens by the palace Cat, unsure of its name, but wasn’t a shy little thing at all.
