A beautiful day at a family farm in Somerset. Dark clouds loomed for most of the afternoon, but patience paid off with a spectacular sunset right when it mattered.

I've been enjoying these smaller weddings lately - shorter days, tighter guest lists, but not one ounce less important than the big affairs. This one was at Bath Guildhall, on what turned out to be the one rainy day of the summer - though it didn't dampen the mood one bit. My guess is once UK marriage rules loosen up, register office weddings like this will become rarer. So I'm making the most of them while they last.

A wedding at the very lovely Southdowns Manor | Wedding Venue. Rain threatened all day, then politely waited until everyone was inside before doing its worst. A pocket of golden light appeared just in time for sunset portraits - rainbow included, no extra charge.

Thank you to my fellow suppliers!

Some weddings you just know are going to be good before the ceremony's even finished. Symondsbury Estate in the sunshine, a tithe barn full of people who were genuinely there for it, and a dancefloor that didn't need much encouragement.

A delightful Sussex engagement session. These sessions are great for anyone feeling a little nervous/anxious about having their photo taken on their wedding day - half an hour in and most people forget there's a camera at all. A pheasant disagreed entirely and made himself very available throughout.

It's been a busy time in the Paul household. Doug has joined the family and brought with him a great deal of cuteness and noise.

I've been back out shooting lots of beautiful weddings across the south of England and the editing queue is growing - so please bear with me on emails. Lots to share very soon!

A wedding ceremony quite unlike anything I’ve photographed before.

Both the bride and groom work in the world of TV and film, so naturally they leaned into it and chose a grade II listed cinema for their ceremony. They even produced a full wedding film to show their popcorn munching guests before everything started. A tough act for the rest of the day to follow.

After that it was back to Coombe Lodge and its scenic grounds for the reception, dinner and party. Always a brilliant place for a celebration.

Not sure where the last four months went, but here we are.

A delightful wedding from towards the end of last year. My first time here and hopefully not my last. I do have a soft spot for South Devon. It’s where I got married, so I may be biased.

I met one of these brides a few years ago at another wedding near Epping and gave them a lift back to Bristol railway station. I guess this was them returning the favour in a fairly big way.

First weddings of 2026 are coming up, so I’ll pretend to be more consistent from now on.
