Super happy right now!!
The Asferico Photo contest results are already online!!

I am excited to say I have a highly commended image in the Man and Nature Category! The first time I have entered this competition and I didn't expect to get awarded. 18.000 images were submitted and only 100 picked so for me its a huge achievement.

Hopefully, an image like this distressed juvenile macaque with a chain around her neck which is tied to a car tire - will raise awareness of the illegal trade in wildlife in Vietnam.

The image was taken in Nha Trang - South Vietnam.

Having an assignment to photography hedgehogs at the prestigious Royal Cresent Hotel in Bath was an exciting prospect. As these beautiful creatures are nocturnal and normally shy, I was hoping a little luck would be on my side!

The hotel has released three female hedgehogs into their beautiful grounds which is a really cool story especially as these little animals are endangered! Si being involved in photographing them is a wildlife photographers dream.

On the evening I arrived there had been heavy rain all day so when the light faded the slugs came out. And hedgehogs love slugs!

So from the beginning, things looked good and It took only a couple of hours to photograph all three hedgehogs, with some excellent help from Mary Stringer.

A great evening of watching and photographing three beautiful rare mammals.

Didn't have to travel far to get this picture. Urban snail outside our house on scaffolding. The recent rain brought out tons of snails in our front and back garden. Love photographing these guys.

Common Frog, Bristol, Ian Wade

I spent an hour yesterday evening on a lockdown walk/exercise at my local pond photographing 10 frogs.

Unusual to see so many frogs on the surface so late in spring in Bristol. They were not spawning just chilling on the surface.
