The third installment of the 60th Anniversary, 'The Giggle' featured scenes filmed across Clare Street and Broad Street during June 2022, featuring , Catherine Tate and .

Protests, UNIT, Ruby and romance. filming once again returned to the suburbs of Clifton as Frederick Place was transformed into Notting Hill.

Companion Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson, was seen on set, along with apparent love interest Jonah Hauer-King, best known for playing Prince Eric in the recent live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid.

These scenes were filmed for the second season of Ncuti Gatwa's incoming Doctor, and will likely air in 2025.

After a period of absence, Peregrine Falcons have been nesting in the Avon Gorge since the 1990s. With a wingspan of up to 120cm, the they are most well known for their speed, reaching over 200mph when diving for prey.

The best times to see the falcons are either during their courtship displays in March, or when the fledglings leave their nest and begin to fly in June and July.

The Harbour Hotel on Corn Street became the venue for a fictional 1987 British Television Awards ceremony today as Happy Prince continued production on Rivals for Disney Plus. The red-carpet scene featured David Tennant, Nafessa Williams, Aidan Turner and Alex Hassell. Katherine Parkinson appeared on set for internal filming inside Cosy Club.

Rivals is an adaptation of a novel by the same name written by Jilly Cooper, who was also seen on set. It follows the rivalry between Lord Tony Baddingham (Tennant) and Rupert Campbell-Black (Hassell) in the cut-throat world of television.

The trail of sixty, decorated unicorns has been organised by as part of Bristol’s 650th anniversary celebrations, and will be raising money for .

You will be able to take part in the unicorn hunt throughout the summer until the end of September when they will be gathered at for a Farewell Festival, then auctioned off on 5th October.

Royal Fort House 📍BS8 1TH

The Georgian house, completed in 1761, stands within the former site of the seventeenth-century royalist fort on the advantageous location of St Michael’s Hill. It was originally occupied by the Tyndall family before being acquired by the in 1916.

Pero’s Bridge 📍BS1 5UH

Providing quick passage between Queen Square and Millennium Square, Pero’s bridge was designed by Irish Artist, Ellis O’Connell, and opened in 1999.

Its name commemorates Pero Jones, an African boy who was enslaved at the age of 12 to serve the merchant John Pinney in 1765. After working on Pinney’s plantation in Nevis, he lived as his manservant in the Georgian House on Great George Street, which can now be visited as one of the .

The eye-catching horns on the bridge function as counterweights to the deck on the rare occasion that it opens.

On the 15th-16th June last year, filming took place for the third instalment of the Doctor Who 60th Anniversary specials, ‘The Giggle’. The scenes filmed in Bristol’s Old City featured David Tennant, Catherine Tate and Neil Patrick Harris.

Inspired by Stepping Through Film here are some shots from the recent trailers in their full Bristolian context.

All three episodes will air this November.
