A couple of months ago I switched everything off for a few days at The Quist on Brinsop Estate in Herefordshire - an off-grid cabin tucked deep in the woods. No WiFi, no telly. Just bliss.
I a tayed here with Georgie and my sister Liv, and we fell straight into the slow rhythm of it. We read books. Went for long walks. Explored the bookshops of nearby Hay-on-Wye. Listened to the forest - proper birdsong, the kind you forget exists. Saw deer. Saw no one.
The cabin itself is a lovely thing to photograph - timber inside and out, a woodpile gable end, green-framed windows looking straight into the trees, and little moments of warmth everywhere (that gingham-skirted kitchen, the hop garland over the window seat). The whole place feels held by the woodland around it.
Sometimes the best reset is the simplest one. Highly recommend. 🌲
