Busch Gardens, Tampa Bay, Florida July 2026

My 11 year old niece was trying to escape the Florida heat in July this year and we found these mist jets so I just watched her dance in the cool to the gentle music and caught a few shots of her. She wasn?t aware which makes it so much better as it?s a totally natural shot and looks like she is carefree

At Stairway to heaven (Pico do Arieiro) in Madeira.

One of my group of 3 friends passed unexpectedly so us two remaining went to the Stairway to heaven where we was above the clouds and closer to our friend ? and watched the sun rise.

Highdown Gardens

We rescued Mr Wiggins in 2014 from a nice family in Amberley who didn't have the time to walk a big boisterous border collie. He needed two long walks a day and he and I became constant companions. I'd take my camera and this is one of my favourite images of him. It was taken on a Sony A7Rii with a cheap manual focus 50mm f1.1 wide open. Sadly he passed away last month and is dearly missed.

In my front room

Taken with my first camera, Olympus E-M10 Mark III with 45mm f1.8 lens, After tinkering with it and learning the basics. I quickly realised I would need a flash for indoor shooting. Once I got that, along with a soft box, my chocolate labrador, Rolo assisted me in sitting still for a brief moment. I lowered the softbox to his face. After a few shots I was pleased with it. Then went to photoshop to darken the background even more. It was my first photo I was proud of. I uploaded it to displate.com. My wife bought it for me so I now have Rolo printed on metal and on my wall! I have since done the same with my yellow labrador. There is so much to learn and remember in photography, but it is so gratifying when you do get a good shot.

Stanmer woods Brighton

This image was taken during an exceptionally warm period in January a few years ago. The tree attracted me because it still green deciduous leaves and it was back-lit. It was only when l focused on the leaf that l noticed (again unseasonably) there was flies on it soaking up the sun.
