What’s happening at PLATFORM this week?

Rain, rain, go away… and don’t come back another day! Where has that lovely sunshine disappeared to?

Whatever the weather, we’ve got plenty to tempt you this week…

Thursday – Saturday
Our award-winning à la carte menu will be available, alongside our ever-popular ‘Pub on the Platform’ lunch menu, running Thursday to Saturday at lunchtime. Proper pub classics, delicious food and plenty of cosy carriage vibes!

Saturday Afternoon Tea
Fancy something a little special? Join us for one of our delectable afternoon teas. Choose between our traditional sweet afternoon tea or our savoury version – the choice is yours!

Sunday
The best roast for miles… and yes, we stand by that! Served until 7pm, alongside our chef’s specials, our traditional Sunday lunches are guaranteed to make your weekend complete.

🔎 Murder Mystery Evenings
Our events are filling up fast, with the next one taking place on Friday 29th September. If you fancy a night of intrigue, laughter and great food, check out the website and book your tickets before they’re gone!

🎄 Christmas Day
We know it’s only June… but Christmas Day bookings are already filling up! If you want a festive celebration to remember, we’d love to welcome you aboard. Menus will be released soon, so secure your table early.

Whatever the weather, we’ll keep the carriages warm, the cocktails flowing and the food delicious.

Last night in Bridport 15/08/2026 Lots of illuminations with the circus on Askers Meadows, Jurassic Fields festival (top right) and the fair at West Bay top centre. No wonder the town council call it the eventful town.

I'm currently deliberating about the best place to go to capture Wednesdays solar eclipse. Undecided as yet. Here's a look at the last solar one I did in 2015 above St Catherine's Chapel in Abbotsbury. Also a lunar eclipse from east beach at West Bay in 2019.

This is Eggardon Hill taken today 06/08/2026 and last year in May. Quite a difference I think you'll agree.
