🕊️ World Seabird Day | July 3 🌊
Today we celebrate the seabirds that travel vast oceans, nest on remote cliffs, and remind us how deeply connected the world’s coastlines really are.

📸 These two Atlantic Puffins were photographed along the dramatic cliffs of Bempton, UK. With their bright beaks, bold personalities, and powerful wings built for long-distance flight, they are a symbol of wild coastal life.

Seabirds face growing challenges including plastic pollution, changing ocean temperatures, and the loss of breeding habitat. Their survival is tied to the health of our seas, and their stories reflect the state of our planet.

Let today be a reminder that protecting seabirds means protecting oceans, and that every effort counts.

This is not a drill.
A Rainbow Bee-eater caught mid-munch with a moth in its beak, looking like it just won nature’s version of MasterChef.
Flashy, fast, and always fabulous.

Just two Oystercatchers out for a casual paddle...
One’s doing the “model walk,” the other’s a bit more dramatic flair and flappy energy.

🪶 I’ll be attending the rally to protect Possum Park because birds can’t protest, but we can

This Thursday, 5 June at 11 AM on the steps of Parliament House, people from all over Adelaide are gathering to protect Pirltawardli (Park 1), also known as Possum Park. It’s home to over 104 native species, including some of my favourite birds, and right now it's under threat from a proposal to bulldoze trees, fence off public space, and build commercial infrastructure for a private golf event.

Possum Park is more than just green space. It’s a corridor for wildlife, a place of cultural and ecological significance, and a patch of calm for many of us. Once it's gone, it's gone.

If you care about open, public, wild spaces, join us. Bring a sign, bring a toy possum, bring your voice.

Because the trees can't speak, but we can.
Because the birds can’t march, but we can.

📍Wedge-tailed Eagle | Aquila audax

Australia’s largest bird of prey, the Wedge-tailed Eagle, perched like royalty on a ghost gum throne. That golden glow on the plumage? Pure morning magic. These raptors command the skies with 2.3m wingspans and laser-sharp eyesight, spotting movement from over a kilometre away.

📸 Captured during one of our remote birding adventures. Respecting space, slowing down, and letting the bird come to us is what makes moments like this possible.

🪶 Join us in celebrating Australia's raptors and the wild spaces they call home.
