Last night was an abortive attempt to get a near full moon rising over the Drinking Dinosaur. Sadly, there was a band of cloud sitting on the horizon when the moon was due to rise but there was some pleasing late evening light illuminating the scene even if it was a tad blustery.

No seals on the beach but you could hear them and eventually I spotted them beyond the Dinosaur's tail.

15 years after my last visit to Whitby and the iconic and much photographed 199 Steps, I went out in the vain hope of a sunset last night.
However, just like 15 years ago, the sun was in very short supply but there was no scaffolding last night on the nearest building.

A quick trip out to see the Midland Pullman arriving at Scarbados (sorry! Scarborough) with the Yorkshire Coast Pullman from Paignton.
