For a long time, I've wanted a tattoo to represent my son, as well as something special to honour my parents, but I could never quite decide on the right design.
Then I discovered fingerprint tattoos and instantly fell in love with the idea. My incredibly talented eldest niece, Lauren, created the most beautiful design by taking a photo of my son, drawing his side profile, and combining it with his fingerprint. She even incorporated his name into the design, making it even more special.
Earlier this year, I met the lovely Becca while photographing her gorgeous little boy at his nursery. Whilst admiring her tattoos, she told me about her partner Bobby at The Tattoo LAB - Bridlington and suggested I pop in for a chat.
I explained the ideas I had for both my son's design and a tribute to my parents using their thumbprints and names, that I call them, in their own handwriting. Bobby worked his magic, refining Lauren's original design with Samuel's own thumbprint and creating a beautiful design for my parents' piece.
Today, he brought them all to life, and I honestly couldn't be happier with the results.
From start to finish, the experience with Bobby and the team was fantastic. They were so welcoming, put me completely at ease, and the conversation flowed effortlessly throughout. To be honest, it felt like a therapy session with plenty of laughs thrown in!
