After 2 years of battling with Meta to gain access to our old page back, I'm (Matt) giving up. I still had access to post through Hootsuite somehow, but the business asset that the page was attached to was hacked through some lame loophole in Meta's system back in June 2024. Anyways, please share this so people can transition from the old page - especially if they love authentic landscape and nature photography!

Cheers!

Natural Landscape Photography Awards (old page tagged so people hopefully see this).

P.S. this is why the header image on the old page is from 2024!

A nice reminder of this years entry into this great awards.

I really enjoy capturing this tree in all weathers and conditions, over the last 3 years you can see the limbs change in shape with age.

I don’t tend to make images of the same views much, as I find looking for new views and scenes appeal more to me.

Which is your favorite?

What an amazing scene, I love that you can keep exploring areas you know well and find new secrets hidden behind deep forests, this amazing tree fell along time ago, it’s growing on its side and providing a superb habitat for fungi and insects.

This is a scene from a local woodland, just over the county border into Staffordshire, a great little wood that I’ve not been to for a good few years, never really with a photographers head on, I’ll be returning across the autumn season to see how this develops over the coming weeks.

Today’s wandering in the cooling forests.

A few frames from a wander in Gloucestershire last weekend. Beautiful high beech forest with dense wild garlic, I was out scouting the area for next year, and found that it was still looking superb.

Fresh eyes, that was the theme of this mornings explore of a Shropshire wood, that I’ve not been to (deliberately) over the past couple of years… why?

To come back with fresh eyes and enthusiasm, when you know a location well, it’s always worth leaving it for a while, especially if the scenes of the past have gone or changed beyond recognition.

I only had a couple of hours this am, so taking a punt (educated guess) on the conditions allowed me to make the most of the time I had out with the camera.

P.S. I’ve had a few people reach out for a woodland workshop in South Wales, follow a recent explore of the area, I will get some info out together, dates are limited though.
