A fascinating glimpse into the demanding days of avian parenthood.

The young bird on the right is a recent fledgling, and you can easily identify its youth by the prominent yellow edges at the base of its beak. This structure is called a gaped fl**ge. It acts as a clear visual target for the parent, signaling exactly where to place gathered insects and seeds.Even after leaving the nest, fledglings rely heavily on their parents for food.

They will follow them closely for several days, calling out constantly until they fully master the skills needed to forage independently.Observing these quiet, daily survival struggles in our own backyards makes you truly appreciate the dedication of wild parents.

Have you noticed any young fledglings visiting your garden or local park recently?

Some views just don’t feel real.

This incredible vista from Bamford Edge captures the Peak District at its absolute best. There is something completely surreal about watching the golden hour light trace the hills and reflect off Ladybower Reservoir below.

Pictures can only capture a fraction of what it actually feels like to stand right on this ledge.

My very first attempt at a high-key wildlife edit.

Northern gannets are easily some of the most beautiful and elegant seabirds to photograph. Their sharp, striking features and incredible graphic lines make them the perfect subject for an abstract style like this.

I’ve spent hours over the last couple of days breaking down the files and re-working the masks to get those fine lines along the beaks perfectly smooth. It was a completely new technical challenge for me, but stripping away the environment really lets the elegance of the birds take center stage.

Have you ever tried shooting or editing in a high-key style?

Spending time on the edge of the Yorkshire cliffs watching these puffins is always a special experience. They are easily some of the most charming and captivating seabirds to watch in the wild, and catching them tucked into the rock face was a moment I couldn't miss. Bempton Cliffs is famous for its raw landscape, and that atmosphere is exactly what I wanted to capture in this photograph.

Have you ever been lucky enough to see a puffin along the UK coast?

A moment from a trip to Hunstanton a couple of weeks ago. There is something unique about the light on the Norfolk coast, especially watching the sun dip below the horizon over the Wash. These gulls happened to cross at the perfect second to catch the last of the glow.

A look back at a sunset from a few months ago at Roswell Pits. The silhouette of Ely Cathedral against the evening sky makes for a classic view of the Fens, especially with the reflections across the water.

The camera captures the frame, but the edit captures the mood. 💻🦅

I recently spent some time with the stunning Golden Eagle at Baytree Owl and Raptor Centre. It’s amazing how a few tweaks to the light and texture can change the entire feel of a photograph to match how it felt being there.

Which version do you like best? The original or the edit? 📈

Found a little slice of magic this weekend. ✨ There is nothing quite like the scent of a bluebell wood in full bloom. It feels like stepping into a fairytale. 🌿💜
