On Monday I spent a very enjoyable day out with the camera in Essex with Steve Hedges and a small group of enthusiastic photographers.
We had some super light and early morning mist over the river Crouch before heading to Warley Nature Reserve and Thornton Country Park for our woodland workshop.
Just a few images from the day.

I took advantage of a voucher I had for a Digital ProLine photobook.
I've not used their service before but I'm very pleased with the result.
It was easy to download and use their software. I chose some of my favourite flower images uploaded and arranged them with the help of the software's suggestions.
The photobook was delivered ahead of schedule, although I had to wait until I got back from a few days' holiday before I was able to see the results.
I wasn't disappointed. It was safely packaged, and the images were very nicely reproduced, true to colour.
It is so rewarding to view printed images rather than seeing them on a screen.
I will definitely be making another book soon.
My smartphone images of some of the pages really don't do the book justice.

Enter the Boardwalk If You Dare.

Mist was rising from the lake, I'd got up in time for the sunrise, so I set off in search of atmospheric woodland images in the trees around the lakes and along the river.
But the mist wasn't playing ball always just beyond where I was walking. Feeling a little disappointed and mindful that the time was racing by I turned for home and there in front of me the mist had begun to invade the boardwalk path a little way in front of me.

A few lazy Sunday morning minutes watching the bees and butterflies enjoying the yellow Verbascum flowers and the Verbena although I think I disturbed the butterflies on the Verbena.
I love the way the Verbena provides a little height to the borders but still allows you to see the fliers in another border.

It's 5 years since we said goodbye but the good memories still linger strongly.
Rarely does a day pass without something triggering a smile as I remember something we did together.
There will be those who say but he was just a dog, but to us he was and remains a huge part of our family.
Sleep well Ben.
