Super proud of how this turned out.

Here are the results of my collaboration with Bradford Polish School.
One of my Our Patch BD25 projects during the Year of Culture.

We started by working with archives and I brought in wonderful dual heritage artist Magda Watson, who shared her practice around memory and working with archives. From there we went on a journey with a group of Polish young people looking at heritage, local diaspora, and their own roots.

This one felt quite personal. Most of the young people were born in the UK and are constantly moving between cultures, asking questions about identity and belonging.

The fun really started when we opened cupboards full of traditional Polish folk costumes and I always wanted to do a fashion-style shoot.

From that point it shifted. From looking for identity… to actually creating it together.

Big thanks to Marta and Aneta from the Polish School, and big respect to all the young people who went fully into it with ideas, energy and confidence.
