Airborne Division practicing landing and deploying at speed. Six Hercules aircraft in a single column landed one after the other and deployed the soldiers along the runway then took off again without stopping. What a sight.

Weddings, party and event photographer. Now retired with over 28 years’ experience as Chief Photographer for an International News Group, Peter has photographed in excess of 80 weddings plus hundreds of events and thousands of news stories and is now offering a cost-effective service within the local Bradford, Halifax and Keighley areas.

“I stopped supplying traditional wedding albums many years ago when the rising cost proved inhibitive to many couples. This is replaced with a digital photographic album with transitional images set to music/songs of your choice, plus the images of the day will also be presented in high resolution on a bespoke memory stick so that selected images can be shared between friends and family and prints obtained".

Being very conscious of the constraints of current high prices, the price of Peter’s services reflects this. “Because I no longer offer album or print packages, I’m able to pass on massive savings to prospective couples by being able to record their special day in a caring and professional way for a fraction of the price starting from £150 for brides house, service and reception to £250 to include evening celebrations".

In the first instance, please message your details and requirements for an informal chat. The details of your special day will be discussed during a face to face meeting.

One of my favourite brides. The hardest part of this pic was taking it while she wasn't smiling or laughing! The ceremony was in a small (tiny) church without any electricity. The photographs were taken outside with the exception of this one by the alter with just candle light illuminating the scene.

This is one of my all time “Royal” favourites and the third time I photographed HRH Camila. It was in the garden of a National Trust property where she was enjoying the scent of the flowers. If you look closely, the bloom that has attracted Camila is held in the hand of another, her husband, HRH Prince Charles. I never took liberties and only photographed the Royals when approval from the press secretary was given. As I crouched down to take the pic, HRH Camila looked me straight in the eye in a pleasant sort of way – but that wasn’t the picture I always recall. That occurred about five seconds after I stood my camera down and moved away, powerless to take a shot – and the Prince knew it – he lifted the bloom and pressed it into the face of HRH Camila, a broad grin on his face as he caught my eye. This wasn’t the first time I was witness to the great sense of humour the Prince possesses.

This is a photograph that very nearly didn’t happen. After sitting, surrounded by camo netting waiting for the Kingfisher to pick the perch I had set for him (probably a couple of hours), I noticed a Water Rail (wading bird) slowly making its way towards me along the streambed from the right. My camera and tripod were in situ to focus on the perch and were locked-in very solidly to reduce vibration when the Kingfisher eventually decided to put in an appearance.
I took the risk to slacken off the retaining bed of the camera so that I could swivel the whole thing round 90 degrees in order to photograph the Water Rail – I wasn’t going to go home without a pic!
True to form. With the camera now pointing away from my Kingfisher perch and me squeezing off a few frames (the camera shutter was on silent), I was distracted out of my left eye by a movement through the camo netting. The Kingfisher had decided to put in an appearance and use my perch for a lofty vantage point of the stream below. The camera bed was still in a fluid state, not being locked down so muttering all sorts of expletives to myself, I slowly and quietly swivelled it back to the left. There wasn’t time to lock everything down and the resulting noises would have undoubtably spooked the Kingfisher, so my only option was to “shoot” on the move so to speak. I was lucky, the bird hung around just long enough for me to get a few shots off.

I remember this wedding with fondness, the day was 100% in every way, including the weather. The ceremony took place on a rocky outcrop outside a very small chapel over looking the Solway Firth at Cardoness, (too small to have the couple, celebrant and witnesses all in at the same time!)
The guests were all standing below on the sand while the sun shone.
