Shenley Road under the morning lights... 🌌🌅✨

Standing outside the The Pick & Shovel - Borehamwood on Shenley Road, ​I love the dramatic colours in this shot - the deep twilight blue sky up above blending into that warm golden glow of the rising sun. Paired with the streetlamps stretching down the high street, standing out here in the quiet before the town wakes up gives you such a unique, peaceful view of Borehamwood. 📸💙🌅

​If you look closely on the left, you can spot MISTR. whether you need a fresh trim at the barbershop or some great branded clothing, right alongside Domino's Pizza getting ready for the weekend rush. We also have Fernside Vet which are amazing for your pet's check-ups! 💈🍕🐕

​I’ve been a little quiet on here since leaving the hospital on Sunday as I continue settling into my recovery at my Nan’s. Getting used to everything with my leg injury has had its tough moments, but looking back at shots like this reminds me how much joy photography brings me and how excited I am to get back behind the lens when I'm ready..💛

Focusing on the future… 📸✨

BIG UPDATE: After nearly 3 weeks in hospital, I am hopefully being discharged TOMORROW! 🥳 The healthcare team gave the green light, and I couldn't be happier to be heading to my Nan’s (as this is the best option for now) to get settled and focus on my recovery!

​Taking a step back over the last few weeks has really given me time to reflect on how far SnapsBySoph has come - and honestly, how far I’ve come personally.

​Sometimes in life, an unexpected detour happens, and you realize that all you really needed was a complete reset. Taking the time to heal, rest my leg, and pause has taught me so much about patience. It reminded me that setting clear goals and tracking your progress isn’t just about hitting numbers - it’s about giving yourself direction and celebrating every small win along the way.

Why set these goals now?
Being away from my camera for the last few weeks made me realize just how much photography fuels my everyday life. Setting these specific milestones isn't just about ticking boxes - it's about giving myself a purpose and a clear roadmap for my recovery. Having these targets written down gives me something positive to focus on every single day as I work to get back to full strength! 💪✨

​I am sitting here with so much gratitude in my heart today. I’m endlessly grateful for my amazing family who have been by my side every step of the way, for my Nan for taking me in while I get back on my feet, and for this incredible community for all the kind messages during my stay. I couldn't do this without you all! 🩵

​Design and photography go hand-in-hand for me, and I’ve honestly been loving creating these graphics on Canva to share my journey with you all! 🎨 (Building layouts like my community feedback collage a few months back has been such a therapeutic, fun creative outlet while resting up!).

​Every single share, comment, and page invite helps SnapsBySoph get back out there doing what I love. Thank you all for being my biggest support system, and being there every step of the way! 📲🩷

Shenley Road before the town wakes up... 🌌🌅✨

​There’s something so magical about standing right in the middle of Shenley Road at 5 AM. Watching the deep blue night sky slowly change to that golden morning glow - completely silent, with not a car in sight! 📸💙

​If you look closely on the left, you can even see the fruit & veg stall getting all set up outside Nando's, getting ready for the day ahead. It’s so nice capturing those quiet behind-the-scenes moments before the town bursts into life! 🍓🍊

​This stretch of road has so many great local spots, whether you’re popping into Wimpy UK for a classic breakfast to kick off the day, grabbing a drink at Starbucks Borehamwood if you’re a coffee lover, or visiting Crystal Salt Cave UK for a unique, relaxing birthday treat, there is such a variety of business's to choose from! 🍳☕✨

Memories at Aldenham Country Park.. 🌿☀️🦆

​After capturing the town center over the last couple of posts, I wanted to switch up the scenery this week and take a trip down memory lane! 🌅

​Looking out over this open view instantly takes me back to being a kid again and coming to Aldenham for sunny days out with my family. Spending hours by the water, watching the geese, and just enjoying being outdoors - it’s always held such a special place in my heart! 📸🥰

​It’s such a fantastic spot to make a full day of it, especially during the summer holidays while the kids are off school! From visiting Aldenham Country Park Farm and letting the little ones burn off energy at the playground and mini trampolines, to exploring 100 Aker Wood to find Winnie the Pooh, there is always so much to do here! And don't forget - there's even Little Life Nursery right on site for the little ones, too! 🎈🐻🌾

But it’s not just for the little ones! Whether you’re stopping by for a scenic family picnic, taking a peaceful walk around the lake to clear your head, or grabbing a quiet moment in nature, it really offers something for everyone! 🧺🚶‍♀️✨

​It was so peaceful standing here watching the morning light glisten on the water. A lovely mid-week reminder of the wonderful local spots right on our doorstep - we are very lucky! 💚

Finding beauty in every corner of our film town... 🎬🇬🇧✨

​Another 5 AM outing capturing Borehamwood before the rest of the world wakes up!

​Our town is very well known for its incredible studio heritage, but this spot holds so many personal memories for me. Growing up here, I spent so many weekends as a child coming to this cinema to watch the latest films, so it will always be a special place for me! 🍿📽️

​Standing here at dawn, I was really struck by the neat symmetry of the lampposts framing the walkway down to REEL Cinema Borehamwood and Puregym Borehamwood. With the bold Union Jack flags lining the path, the soft early sky overhead, and those lovely pink flowers blooming on the right, it felt like such a nostalgic throwback! 🏙

​It might be a familiar, classic staple for so many of us, but seeing these everyday places glowing in quiet dawn light is my favourite way to appreciate our town.. 🥰📸

Another quiet angle on Shenley Road.. 📸🌅🥰

Following on from my Shenley Road snap the other day, here is a slightly different view looking further down Shenley Road as the morning sunrise broke over the town at 5AM. Seeing that soft golden glow wash over the road really makes you appreciate how peaceful our town can be before it wakes up! ⏰️

It’s always a quiet reminder of all the wonderful local spots that keep Borehamwood running - whether you're going out for a tasty meal Barracuda Borehawood, grabbing some beautiful flowers from Heaven Scent The Flower Store, or popping past TUI Borehamwood to check out the latest holiday deals, it’s the local people and familiar faces that truly keep our high street going! 🍲💐✈️

Seeing the Union Jack banners lining the street in that warm sunrise light, with the roads completely clear (apart from the only driving car!), gives such a lovely, serene perspective on the places we walk past every single day. Snapping this busy stretch before the daily rush begins at dawn is a favourite! 🇬🇧✨

A morning view up Ripon Way... 🌅✨

Another 5 AM start capturing our town's golden morning light! Standing here reminds me just how much of a busy local hub Manor Way really is for everyone.

​Whether you're popping into One Stop Convenience Stores to grab your everyday essentials, collecting a parcel at the Manor Way Post Office, or using the 24-hour laundrette at all hours Night & Day Launderette 24 7 365, this little parade has such a variety! Just across the road, Ripon Park is perfect for the kids to play, while the big open field right beside it is ideal for morning dog walks. Plus, you’ve got Three Ways Community Centre right there as a great spot to meet up and socialise!

​Seeing these familiar, busy spots completely peaceful at dawn gives such a lovely perspective on our local area! 📸🥰

We were proud to welcome The OLLIE Foundation to our first matchday of the season at Kenilworth Road.

A little update & morning peace from Shenley Road... 🌅✨

Following on from my update a couple of weeks ago after fracturing my knee, I wanted to share another quiet moment captured down Shenley Road looking towards Hertswood Academy. Watching that golden sky break through the trees is such a peaceful reminder of home.

​A quick update from me today: after nearly two weeks of being looked after at Barnet Hospital, I’m being transferred over to the Royal London today to wait for my big second surgery. Feeling a bit nervous about the move, but I know this is the best thing for recovery!

Thank you all so much for the endless love, kind comments, and well wishes on my page since my first post - it truly means the world to me while I'm recovering. I really am so thankful for the support of my community and I can't wait to get back to what I love most..📸💙
