Also on a first visit to Marlow this weekend is John Parnham Jnr with his recently purchased Miami, a ride which served Roger Tuby & Son so well since its debut at Leeds in 2002. Marlow Town Regatta is the largest fair of the season hosted by Traylen's Fun Fair. Photos from yesterday's visit begin with the first Rock-O-Plane to be seen for many years, David Traylen travelled his own ride in the 1980's. This Eyerley built machine spent many years in the Northwest of England and is on its second season with Robert Bartlett Jnr. New single-colour LED's have recently been fitted to the arms.

At Lichfield the Millie Stanworth Trophy for Best In Show went to Paul Meynell for his fully working Loop Fighter built by fellow modeller Ian Johnson.

This year's ride list for The Hoppings is now released. Elevate 85 tops the bill for newcomers, the huge new Funtime Star Flyer of Crow Events will be the tallest ride present. The layout is again reduced to the same size as 2024 due to ground works at the Gosforth End. Gives the organisers the opportunity though to fill the gaps at the Exhibition Park end from last year with the displaced attractions. Owing to the clash of dates with the Parklife Festival in Manchester, Matthews Skyfall & Apollo 13 are both absent this year.

Last Sunday the Rowell Fair Society held their annual model show in Tresham Hall above the Conservative Club on Market Hill, Rothwell with Davey Arthur organising the show on their behalf. Exhibits came far afield at Hants & Leeds to attend this event which coincided with the Trinity Sunday celebrations. Posting a few photos which I took on the day.

Just a few photos from the Lichfield Bower Model Show held on 23rd May organised by Andy Watson. Three trophies were awarded at the show, Best In Show went to Paul Meynell for his working Loop Fighter model, Best Transport to John Jennings (JJ) for his 1:50th and Best Traditional to Pete & Kath White for the living wagon.

Some of the transport captured before opening yesterday at Rowell Fair. New for 2026 is Austin Holland's Superbowl replacing John Holland's recently sold Dodgem. It's the first time in the living memory of many that no track opened at the fair. There will be a video to appear of a walk around yesterday's model show.

Selection of photos posted in date order from my visit yesterday to Pinner Fair a one-day Chartered fair hosted by Capital Funfairs. This year saw the Miami count increase to four after years of there just being one (when John Brixton took sole rights) the amount has steadily returned to the quantity often seen in the 1990's.
Also amongst the new rides here were two Superstar rides from Keely Wall & Evan Moran Jnr, the latter did appear way back in 2000 with Scott Manning. The Wall family are no strangers to Pinner, their old Zipper used to stand in Marsh Road in the 1990's.
