A nice little nest monitoring survey for this morning topped off a long week and gave me a few hours out in the field enjoying a huge variety of bird life.
Photographed were the highlights. A pair of Common Whitethroat, a very active Long-tailed Tit nest, breeding Robins and a record shot of my personal first Cuckoo in the Blandford area.

Just a few shots of Shaftesbury basking in the sunlight yesterday. The town speciality of Snowdrops are in full bloom at the moment, and I also racked up 31 bird sp - a new town pb for me.

So, I’m still digging up photos from Brazil. This is Male Red-Legged Honeycreeper, with the species existing in the semi open areas of the Tropical Lowlands of Central America, the Amazon and the Atlantic Rainforest. Strange lighting on this photograph, but I think it came out alright!

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to get out with my camera properly, so here’s a throwback to Brazil in January, to a trip that feels so far away now. 🇧🇷

I hope everyone is at safe and well at home during this difficult period. Together we can beat COVID-19. Stay Home, Save Lives.

The White-headed Marmoset is a primate endemic to Brazil - they are most commonly found kept in captivity, so to see the species in the wild was pretty cool.

Rufous-tailed Jacamar. It was great to see this cool little bird for the first time. Seems like an age ago now. 🇧🇷

The Common Potoo - only upon seeing the photographs of my accomipninces, did I realise that beneath the breast feathers of the adult potoo, and behind the branch, there’s a little white chick. A shame to have missed that one, but a great bird(s) to see nonetheless.
