I’d like to introduce you all to my little fighter, Koa. Ive been meaning to post for a long time but couldn’t bring myself to. I can only apologise for delayed responses and messages left unopened. It’s been a heck of a journey the past year. My boy has overcome so much already.
I was told he would pass away whilst I was pregnant but he defied all odds and was born in October. He’s got Tetralogy of Fallot heart condition and has been monitored since birth. The aim was 6-9 months for surgery however at Christmas he started to have spells with his heart and he wasn’t coping anymore. He had to have urgent heart surgery and he is now a week post op in Alder Hey. We’ve spent this year so far in Manchester st Mary’s and then he was transferred to Alder Hey where he will remain until we can finally get home and be reunited with his brothers.
Koa has Trisomy 21( Down’s syndrome) and since being born we’ve also learnt he is deaf however he is still the happiest little boy who has truly taught me what is truly important in life.
I will be eternally grateful for all the amazing NHS staff we have had the pleasure of meeting. From the nurses, consultants to the amazing surgeon who saved my boys life. We are so lucky to have such amazing selfless professionals.
I don’t know when I will be returning to work but I will at some point in the future. I love my job and it means a lot, all of my customers continued support.
So I can only apologise for being quiet, it’s been the toughest year, I will let you all know once I’m returning to work. 💙
