Greeting all visual storytellers a Happy World Photography Day! 📷 (a day late)

This is what google says about why we celebrate World Photography Day.

"World Photography Day is celebrated on August 19th to commemorate the 1839 announcement of the Daguerreotype, the first practical photographic process. The French government purchased the patent and declared it a free gift to the world, sparking a global revolution in art, science, and visual storytelling. "

Personally, I cannot thank photography enough for helping me tell stories when my little brain ran out of words. At one point, I stopped going out to photograph, and I lost count of how many times I wanted to quit photography completely. But looking at all the beautiful photos I saw online and in magazines inspired me to get back into taking photos and tell my side of the stories of the world behind the lens.

All photos were shot using Canon RF 24-70mm f2.8 L USM. Definitely a favourite travel lens. Not too bulky and very versa...

All photos were shot using Canon RF 24-70mm f2.8 L USM. Definitely a favourite travel lens. Not too bulky and very versatile. Canon’s R6 Mark III made it even better. With a 32.5MP, I can crop closer to my subject without worrying about the details. 😍

Safari Dusk

As far as I could see,
I watched in silence:
Silhouettes of men, camels, and trees,
Clouds of dust against golden hues,
A moving canvas of safari dusk.

Barefoot, I climbed the frail dunes,
Sliding...
Then standing grounded.
The daytime breeze slithered past my legs
As I sank, inch by inch, into the sand.

On one side rose the moon;
On the other, the sun retired,
Colours bleeding across the landscape
Even Da Vinci could not replicate.

Cold sweat streaming down my neck,
My flesh shivered against my drenched torso.
The ground held the residue of the desert heat,
While the air brought the chill of the moonlit night.

While photography undoubtedly belongs to the realm of art, it is, above all, a form of poetry, a visual narrative of thoughts and emotions captured through light or the absence of it.

With that in mind, blurry photographs are not always a flaw. By intentionally adjusting your camera's shutter speed (displayed as 1 sec, 1/15 sec, and so on), you can transform motion into emotion and tell a story that a sharp image sometimes cannot.
