Now that our degree show exhibition is over, I’m delighted to announce that my image The Edge has been selected for the Scottish Portrait Awards colour long list.

I made this image as part of series highlighting how my, at the time undiagnosed, ADHD made me feel at times. Knowing something was wrong, but it not being taken seriously enough to warrant diagnosis by the NHS was a hard place to be.

I am now diagnosed (privately), and at least have a better understanding of myself, and my past, and how to better deal with my brain.

I’m proud of this image, and the rest in the series, and hopefully it can help in some small way to raise awareness of ADHD in women that may have been missed in their childhood.

Our degree show runs the 1st - 8th June at the City of Glasgow College. There’s some superb work and it will be worth a visit if you’re in Glasgow 🙂

On a personal note, I can’t believe my second undergrad experience is at an end. It’s been a wonderful exploration and I’ve learnt so much. I only wish I could share this moment with Robert, who took a chance on me 4 years ago, and gave a me a place on the HNC course at West College Scotland. ‘Monsieur Bobert’ you are very missed x

Onwards though, and hopefully a chance to explore further through an MFA with Belfast School of Art.

Thanks to all of you that have supported me and my work, and helped to get me this far! x
