Whilst I’m not currently taking on studio or in-home newborn shoots due to Covid, I have to recommend this amazing lady. She is local to Bishop’s Stortford and such a talent. Look at this beautiful bubba! Helen is an absolute pro with props and wrapping and is a lovely person who will make you feel at home and with small people of her own she knows exactly how to get these beautiful shots for you. X

“A smile is the best makeup a girl can wear.”

As we get older we sometimes forget that, especially once we have responsibility for another tiny human! But babies have none of our grown up worries.

Here you can see the bliss that shines through when a little one feels safe, comfy and thoroughly loved 💗 doesn’t she look so happy with life?

This is me trying to edit! Or do any kind of work that involves sitting at the table 😆🤦🏻‍♀️ Thankfully I have the loveliest (and most patient) clients a photographer could wish for.

I’m really thankful for all of you.

I’ve seen so many really well written posts from my fellow wedding togs and people in the wedding industry about how their careers and businesses and livelihoods have been tested at best or destroyed at worst this year. We’re in that funny little niche that hasn’t qualified for assistance and that continues to be impacted. No business as usual in the wedding biz. My exciting and solid pipeline of work for this year disappeared, month by month. My first wedding of 2020 (asides from a few pics at a lovely little wedding reception a few weeks back) is in 2 weeks. The bride and groom had already changed dates twice and then got their head around their guest list of less than 30 before she phoned me this week to discuss the newest government guidelines which puts their guest list to 9. Their wedding is going ahead and it will be perfect and lovely and I will feel honoured as always to capture it for them. But many aren’t. Will my weddings next year go ahead 🤷🏻‍♀️

So over here we are still holding tight. I, like many others have found other ways to financially support my family, finding other revenue streams. I’ve started another little business

So I’m still here! Being cautious and shooting families outside when I can and hoping for the best. Sending love to everyone in this industry. ❤️

These beautiful people got up and out for an 8:30am shoot today! Great way to start the day and such a lovely family. Here’s one of my faves, plus the black and white because I am a sucker for black and white. Which do you prefer?

I had the absolute best day yesterday doing something I’ve wanted to do for so long! This was my 40th treat back in Feb, I was meant to be doing this in London but ... covid. Which meant as fate would have it, I ended up on a workshop with the amazing Rosa (winner of the great pottery throw down and all round amazing potter, which was my pre lockdown Netflix addiction!) 😱🙌🏼 So. Much. Fun! Met some lovely ladies on the course and giggled a lot (first time pulling a handle for a mug 😆🙄🙊🤣). I made a mug! I’m hoping to do a lot more of this to add to the ceramic jewellery I’ve been making over at , my side hustle ☺️ Thank you x
And tomorrow I’m back behind the camera for a day of family shoots 📷

A few weekends ago we got up at 3am and bundled 3 sleepy boys into the car with pancakes and promises of a great adventure. We drove to the closest sandy beach for low tide and sunrise. We were on the beach by 4:30am and watched as the sun peaked over the horizon and slowly moved up into the sky, to much, MUCH excitement. We had 4 blissful hours on the beach before anyone else arrived. It was warm and so beautiful and we were home by 10. We don’t speak about how grumpy the boys were for the next 2 days so as not to ruin the memory 😆😜 Id highly recommend it. We’ve watched the sunset many times in summer but never the sunrise (despite being up for 80% of summer sunrises with small people 🙄🤪). I took my cam... a level of organisation and ex*****on that rarely happens for me these days ☺️😆

Oh! I also meant to post this. Thank you so so much to everyone who had doorstep photos... you raised this money ❤️

Hi everyone! I can’t believe it’s been over a month since my last post, yikes where did that month go 😳🤷🏻‍♀️☺️😆

It’s been over 12 weeks now just me and my 3 boys at home since my husband went back into London and 12 weekends straight that I have worked 🤪🥵 but this weekend I have taken the whole two days off! It’s been perfect and full of lovely things so far. So social media sharing has taken a back seat to shoots and edits and card making over at https://www.facebook.com/With-love-from-Lucy-101119568273252 (I always tell myself I must get better at this!! 🤪) but here are a few of the recent shoots I’ve done and I’ll share more when I can ❤️ 📷

I have a few sessions available coming up and a potential HITCHIN LAVENDER FIELD mini shoot date if anyone is interested?!

Hope you’re all doing well out there ☀️

I'm out and about again today shooting more doorstep portraits and this afternoon I have my first mini shoots OF THE YEAR! Of the year. So very odd. I'm excited. And not just because I get to leave my house without my children for the first time in two weeks, but mostly that! It's been intense just the boys and I at home all day for well over a month having become very accustomed to seeing Daddy for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the previous however many weeks (ahh the memories, it was amazing), so my edits have taken a lot longer than expected but I'm finally caught up (just! Marissa yours are nearly done).

Here are some of the doorstep portraits from two weeks ago, including my first doorstep KISS which was very lovely! :-)

I am still taking bookings. I've lost count of the amount of money we have raised for the food bank now but it's well over £100. I'll share the donation once I've made it.

Feel free to tag yourself 🙂

Just a little shout out to another of my all time favourite local small businesses. This lady is so talented and makes such beautiful things.

New ideas for my Etsy shop. What do you think? I’ve been so inspired by the bees and wildflowers this spring. They’re just beautiful 🌿🌷🌸🐝

Taking a quick break from doorstep edits before heading to bed. If anyone fancies photos of their small people in a field of daisies then I’d be more than happy to oblige 😆This guy thought it was brilliant. Then he tried to eat them, of course

This weekend I photographed 12 lovely families on their doorsteps. It was so good to chat to other humans (even with the near miss - accidental hug, social distancing is hard) It was a hot one... lots of sunny doorsteps and squinting in the sun but we had fun. Here are a few from the bunch I have managed to edit so far (my 3 are keeping me busy at home so I'm squeezing in edits when I can), including a couple of funny outtakes!

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who has and is continuing to support my little business. Month by month my work for this year has been sadly cancelled or postponed until next year and so being able to continue to work even if just a little is very much appreciated.

AND WE HAVE RAISED £100 FOR THE BISHOPS STORTFORD FOOD BANK!! Thank you thank you, to everyone who booked a doorstep shoot and to my lovely (wishes to remain anonymous) donator who added to my total to take us to £100.

I'm shooting more this Saturday so feel free to book in and share among your friends.

(Thanks to everyone for your patience, I have a few more to edit and will be sending them over ASAP)
