🏠 And that’s a wrap for Doorstep Drop-ins 2023! 🎉

A massive thank you to all the families who took part in this - you were amazing! Always ready when I arrived, looking lovely, kids and dogs so well behaved - what more could I ask for?!

Those of you who I visited over the past weekend, keep an eye out in your inbox for your galleries, they’ll be coming very soon.

Everyone else who sees this (whether you took part or not), voting will open this Friday so please do click through on the link when it’s posted and give us a vote for your favourite family photo!

I had so much fun doing these that I might consider repeating it next year, depending on my schedule. 💫 A couple of my favourites from a maternity shoot last year…

I bet it seems like a lifetime ago for this gorgeous mama, that she was yet to meet the newest love of her life. It’s so funny how while you’re waiting for them to arrive, you can’t imagine how your life will be with a new little one in the mix, yet a few weeks in it feels like they’ve been with you forever!

I’m looking for someone who is available one evening next week (27th-30th June) for a creative outdoor sunset maternity shoot. The Doorstep Drop-Ins will happen on the 24th June, and the 1st and 2nd of July. On those dates I’ll be visiting local families outside their homes to capture a little slice of their lives, as it is in this very moment.

But that’s not even the good part! One lucky mama will win the top prize of a full family shoot with me, including 10 hand-edited high-resolution digital images, 5 matching 7 x 5 prints PLUS a £50 voucher from either Zig and Star, Leaf Envy or Black & Sigi.

🏠 Why choose an in-home newborn photoshoot over a studio shoot, I hear you ask? Well, let me tell you…

You’ve just given birth, you’re still a little sore downstairs (I could barely sit down for 2 weeks with my eldest! 🙈), and you’re dealing with sleepless nights, sore ni***es, and possibly trying to get an older sibling or two used to having a new little person in their lives.

BUT, you want to capture the memories of this fleeting period in your life, because you know it’ll pass by in a flash, and the blur of those days will quickly erase what you can remember of them. The teeny tiny fingernails, the soft downy hair covering their body, the snuffles as they search for yet another feed.

What could be better than having these moments captured in the comfort of your own home? Not only is it convenient (all the bits you need for your newborn, plus aaalllll the snacks needed for big bro or sis on tap), it also means that I can bottle up a little slice of your life too. How things were at this exact moment in time. Where you lived, what your home looked like - maybe even the nursery if you’re organised enough to have it ready for when the little one arrives (disclaimer - I haven’t been, either time!).

Worried your home isn’t Pinterest-worthy? Honestly, you needn’t. You’d be surprised by the tiny little pockets of your home that we make beautiful!

✨ Just look at these gorgeous photos from a recent in-home newborn shoot in Great Dunmow. I’m apologising in advance for the over-share, there were so many beautiful shots from this session, you’re definitely going to be seeing lots more of this super cute family!

😭 Have I missed the boat for my newborn photos?!

Those post partum hazy days… Unless you have been organised enough to schedule your newborn photography session in the months before your due date, sorting out getting your photos taken is one of the last things you’re thinking of. But so many people think they’ve missed their chance, only to regret it in months to come, when they realise exactly how quickly their baby grows and changes.

Let me tell you, there is NEVER a bad time to get your family photos taken! Although the traditional newborn photos are usually taken in the first few weeks after birth, we can still capture just as much gorgeousness in the following months.

Just look at little Lottie here in these images. At 10 weeks new, she’s cute as a button and now her family have these beautiful photos to treasure.
