With Cheltenham Literature Festival around the corner, we’re gearing up to shoot some more celebrity portraits.

We’re so lucky to have shot so many incredible names - from Dame Judi Dench to Jordan Stephens, a lot of people have stood (or sat) in front of our lens.

Here’s a few BTS shots of our makeshift studio in the writers’ room. Thanks again to Cheltenham Festivals - we can’t wait to be unrolling our coloramas in a few weeks’ time.

‘Drum’ roll please... 🥁

We’ve excited to share that we’ve been shortlisted at The Drum B2B Awards 2026!

We’re shortlisted for a project we produced earlier this year for one of our favourite clients, TechnologyOne. We’re thrilled to be in the running for such a prestigious award, especially for a project that we’re so proud of. “But what is the project?!”, we hear you ask!

We asked people right across the country one simple question: what would you ask your council? We took their answers, and put the British public on the biggest screen in Europe - The Outernet at Tottenham Court Road.

It’s exactly the kind of project we love. A big idea, a brilliant challenge, and a scale that left no room for anything less than our best. The whole team pulled together to make something this ambitious look effortless.

The Drum B2B Awards are one of the biggest nights in the industry, so to see our name on the technology industry shortlist means a great deal to everyone at StillMoving.

The winners are announced in November... Wish us luck!

Sometimes the fastest way to get the shot isn’t finding the location. It’s building it.

We build a lot of what we shoot - a custom kitchen for Smeg, room after room for sixteen3, dressed and struck between set-ups on the same day. When the space we need doesn’t exist, we build it in studio instead.

The bit worth remembering if you’re doing this yourself: you only need to build what’s in frame. Half a kitchen, one convincing wall, a floor that reads right on camera. Everything outside the lens can be plywood and gaffer tape.

It also means total control over light. No windows fighting you, no landlord telling you when you have to be out. As it’s modular, the same studio floor can become three different rooms in one day if you plan the strike and rebuild properly.

SWIPE FOR LIGHTING DIAGRAM! There’s a lot going on in the studio with sixteen3’s new campaign shoot, having to make massive sets work across photo and video with a mix of continuous sources. Always a treat creating false sunlight in the studio 📸🖤

The lighting setup is busy, but in essence you’ve got a large fresnel (Nanlux Official 2400B + 900C) as sunlight - hard warm light. The rest is fill and littles reflections and catches of light to do what light does best; go everywhere and bounce off everything.

This is what happens we’ve you’ve got to create one setup that works for multiple sets and vibes, lights go everywhere and you run out of fixtures… and you need sunglasses on set because it’s so bright.
