I won't set up shots. I won't get in the way. In fact I hope your guests think I'm a guest too. My task will be to record those special moments, shot simply with no posing, that happen as you, your family and friends, share your special day. The photographs will be presented in the old fashioned style with the look of film. Mostly in Black and White both as prints and of course in digital format f

or you to enjoy long after the event. If you like the thought of this hands off approach. Get in touch. Let me know what your plans are, and we'll take it from there.

What is Documentary Wedding Photography?
There are several different names for this style of photography. Wedding photojournalism, documentary wedding photography or reportage wedding photography. There probably isn't any real difference between the labels used to describe what should be the natural, as it happens style that aims to tell the story through the photographic image.

That "Story telling" aspect is really the key. A documentary wedding photographer is a story teller. It is not always easy. The photographer needs to use their experience and skill to read situations through the day and hopefully be in the right place at the right time! Most of the time at least. You will sometimes see photos that have been posed to have the "Look" of a live, journalistic image but that is not true wedding photojournalism.

Is it for everyone? Probably not. If we were all the same with the same tastes it would be a boring old world! Documentary Wedding Photography can though bring a fresh dimension to the "Traditional" perception of the photographers role on your wedding day. It's for YOU to choose what works on your day.
