Eloise & Tom threw one hell of a wedding yesterday and I’m still not over how good it all looked. I mean just look at them flowers 🥰 From the colourful details to the packed dance floor, this one was full of personality from start to finish.

Not being at Download this weekend feels wrong.
BUT...
I’ve got two absolutely mega weddings to photograph instead, so I can’t complain too much.

A few years ago I was convinced I needed to tone myself down to fit into the wedding industry.

Be more polished.
More luxury.
More beige.

Instead I leaned harder into:
🖤colourful weddings,
🖤weird little moments,
🖤alternative couples,
🖤chaotic dance floors,
🖤and people who care more about vibes than perfection.

And now I’m a finalist for an award doing exactly that. Which honestly feels very full circle.
So thank you to every couple who trusted me to document your day in a way that actually felt like YOU.

Friendly reminder that your wedding is not meant to be 14 hours of people pleasing.

You do not need to do traditions just because everyone expects you to.
You do not need beige because it’s “timeless”.
You do not need a massive guest list full of people you barely speak to.
And you absolutely do not need to spend the whole day worrying whether Great Aunt Susan approves of your table centrepieces.

Do what feels like you.

Have the tattoos, the Doc Martens, the drag queen, the confetti cannons, the emo bangers, the pizza van, the private vows, the outfit change, the chaotic dance floor.

The best weddings are never the most perfect ones.
They’re the ones where the couple actually look like they’re having the best day of their lives instead of hosting a corporate event.

If your wedding has personality, colour, chaos and a bit of questionable dancing…
I’m already obsessed with it

Choosing a wedding venue is exciting…
and also slightly overwhelming when Google gives you approximately one million options.

Barns, warehouses, city spaces, pubs, blank canvases — the Midlands has it all, which is great… until you’re trying to decide what actually feels like you.

My biggest tip?
Don’t pick a venue because it’s “popular” — pick one that fits how you want the day to feel.
