It may have been a little hot n sticky at the Billesley Rock Club last night. Why? 'cos we had three amazing original acts for you.

Take a bow Mildred, who opened up for Black Star Bullets, who in turn got us all ready for the Tommy Strix Band.

Oh and a huge shout out for Allyson Thomas who travels up from Swansea on a regular basis for a night out 🥰

Could Saturday nights at the Billesley Rock Club get any better than this???

Counterfeit Kiss (official)'s first gig back after Darren's recent surgery and both he and Sean totally pulled it out of the bag. It was great to see them enjoying stage time again. With Ian Danter standing at the sound desk smiling and singing too, that said it all.

King Awesome - The Ultimate 80s Rock Tribute Band, truly are what they say .... the Ultimate 80s Rock Band, presenting a wide range of classics, to which the audience loved singing and dancing too.

Both end of set band shots were taken by my wingman for the evening Rob so enjoy the gallery !

Rob has shared other images so go take a look.

THE SCHEMERS + SPECIAL GUESTS THREE (OR IS IT III) IMAGINARY BOYS - THE BILLESLEY ROCK CLUB FRI 15TH MAY 2026
If your thing is punk, then Friday at the Billesley Rock Club was the place to be. Regulars to the club, new wave and punk aficionados The Schemers were joined by another trio, Three Imaginary Boys whose chosen subject is primarily 70's and 80's punk. Guessing their name is taken from the The Cure's 1979 debut studio album, TIB blasted through twelve classic tunes of the era, despite some struggling vocals towards the end of the set. Some great songs in there though! The Schemers need no introduction to the BRC faithful, but if you're yet to see them catch one of their shows when you can. The boys stylishly entertained a very respectable turnout to well over an hour of top sounds from various new wave and punk artistes' catalogues. Great band, great sounds and with Jason Pegg's beautiful white Gretsch guitar sounding awesome, as ever, I was one happy photographer! Big thanks to both bands for a fab night and to you, the club supporters we say a huge thank you. Your continued support for the BRC and live music cannot be underestimated and hosts Nancy, DJ Bear, Darren and Nidge will continue to bring you the best of sounds and we'll hopefully see you all again real soon. Check out the Rock club's page, website or pick up a flyer to keep updated about upcoming shows.

Billesley Rock Club always aims to bring you the very best and last night was no exception. A packed out venue being well watered by Mark behind the bar to ensure everyone was able to sing along.

Take a bow Dark Side of the Wall for two outstanding sets.

BIG GUNS - THE BILLESLEY ROCK CLUB SAT MAY 2ND 2026.
Last Saturday, yours truly was at KK's Steel Mill photographing a trio of big gun bands, , Warrior Soul and Tyketto! This Saturday, at my regular haunt, the Billesley Rock Club, I was shooting (no pun actually intended) yet more big guns, but these were five guys paying homage to 80's and 90's rock and metal and appropriately named Big Guns! This outfit has been a regular and most popular visitor to the BRC and never fails to deliver the goods, As the saying goes, it does what it says on the tin! Spanning two sets and two hours, the evening's musical menu features a wide ranging selection of rock and metal classics, guaranteed to exercise the vocal chords of our awesome patrons! Our hosts Nancy and Bear work so hard to bring the best in live music to the club and will always champion originals bands, after all, they are the future, but a little bit of familiarity doesn't hurt either! After all, it's good to let your hair down (if you have any, unlike me, that is!) once in a while. Tonight, Big Guns shot straight and true and we thank them for a great show. As always, our sincerest thanks go to you, our truly loyal and amazing club patrons for continuing to support our artistes, the venue and live music; never underestimate what you mean to us all. Stay safe and well.

SNOG + SPECIAL GUESTS POIZON - THE BILLESLEY ROCK CLUB FRI 24TH APRIL 2026 PART 2.
Following on from the outstanding Poizon - World's No.1 tribute band to Poison. Friday night at the Billesley Rock Club saw the return of Snogkisstribute and, who, as their tag suggests pay homage to New York City legends KISS. Donned in the full regalia (just how do they move around in those huge shoes?), these four guys gave us fifteen of the best from the extensive KISS catalogue to round off yet another night of awesome sounds at Birmingham's top local live music venue. To both bands we say a massive thank you for the top-drawer entertainment, to Phil Docker for his sound desk wizardry and to you, our incredible patrons for continuing to support artistes, the venue and live music. You are all truly appreciated by the whole BRC team.

SNOG + SPECIAL GUESTS POIZON - THE BILLESLEY ROCK CLUB FRI 24TH APRIL 2026 PART 1.
For those of you that enjoys a bit of glam, a bit of sleaze and a huge chunk of rockin' good music, then the Billesley Rock Club on Friday night was the place to be. Returning to entertain us were our good friends Poizon - World's No.1 tribute band to Poison and Snogkisstribute. A week earlier Rob Wylde was strutting his stuff fronting the awesome Midnite City, but tonight he was gonna be doing a bit of Bret Michaels, fronting our opening band Poizon. The guys belted out fifteen Poison classics, with our fab crowd providing enthusiastic additional backing vocals and generally having a bostin' time. With Poizon worth the entrance money on their own, we still had co-headliners Snog to follow, but more of them in part 2. Meanwhile, with huge thanks to our first half performers Poizon, here are a few snaps of their performance.

MEZ PRESENTS! THE SMALL FAKERS, THE TWELFTH ANNUAL STEVE MARRIOTT NIGHT - THE BILLESLEY ROCK CLUB SAT 18TH APRIL 2026
The much anticipated first-time appearance of Small Fakers to the Billesley Rock Club was here at last and a very close on capacity crowd had gathered for this twelfth annual celebration of the late Steve Marriott, vocalist and guitarist with London legends Small Faces. Our guests tonight have built a fine reputation, at home and internationally and have received complimentary words from none less than original Small Faces members, Jimmy Winston and Kenney Jones. Fine praise indeed. Our patrons tonight were treated to twenty three SF classic tunes, with dancing shoes getting a thorough workout! To say it was steamy down the front is an understatement, given the packed room and I'm sure I was a couple of pounds lighter once I'd taken my pics. I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who extended me the courtesy of giving me room to snap away, it was much appreciated and I hope I didn't spoil your viewing pleasure too much! It was gratifying to see a band used to sell-out gigs playing to the venue capacity and for that we thank each and every one of you good people who came to support the guys, the music and the BRC. We especially thank the band for one heck of a nostalgia trip and hope to see them back at the club sometime in the future. Finally just gotta give a big shout out to substitute sound man tonight, Phil Docker, for the bang on sound! Nice job bud!
