Down to Earth is a collection of works by 11 diverse artists, each one imploring us to look at aspects of human impact on our planet. Several of the artists use recycled and environmentally more friendly creative methods and materials and have made new work for the show. The work includes sculpture, ceramics, painting, photography, printmaking, textile art and digital media, plus bird and frog calls in shi Blank’s natural soundscape and image installation! We have attracted artists from Bradford and beyond, many known internationally, who have been selected to exhibit because of their passionate responses to our climate crisis. We were delighted when the University of Bradford team asked us to bring it to their Gallery II, for a second showing.
The artists are: Janet Allsebrook, shi Blank, Caro Blount-Shah, Carine Brosse, Manya Donaque, Louie Haslam-Chance, Phil Jackson, Christine Kelly, Jodie Posen, Carol Sorhaindo and Helen Wood.
