I have been lucky enough to travel to France last week and visit some really stunning places.
Dunkirk now a stunning beach but also quite an eerie place to be after what happened here in WW2, to think the amount of troops that perished here is quite overwhelming.

I would recommend Bodiam Castle not only is it stunning to look at and walk around but also packed full of interesting history.

Historical Background
Construction: Bodiam Castle was constructed in 1385 by Sir Edward Dalyngrigge, a former knight of Edward III, to defend against potential French invasions during the Hundred Years' War. The castle was strategically located near the River Rother and surrounded by marshland, making it difficult for attackers to approach.
