Welcoming the French Wing of the Commemorative Air Force to the UK in style.

The Little Blue Cloud tour has started and I was lucky to get some air to air time with their Piper NE-1 yesterday. Flying between Duxford and Shuttleworth in yesterday’s heat was something else, I don’t think I’ve ever been so hot, but it was well worth it.

The Little Blue Cloud (TLBC) tour will stop at several British airshows this year so keep your eyes out for it and pick up some merchandise.

This wouldn’t have been possible without the camera ship flying of Ben Griffiths (Chipmunk G-BXGO) and Jean-Yves (the pilot of the Piper) nor without cooperation of the French CAF.

Postcards from Nimrod Preservation Group’s XV232 final engine runs at Coventry in January.

They’re currently working on getting the Nimrod out of the sadly closed Coventry airport and down to Manston. Good luck with the move.

This was my first time shooting N-Log and subsequently my first time colour grading. There’s still a lot to learn on that front. Especially exposing Log footage correctly, you may see that they’re all a little bit noisey from being underexposed.

If any has any tips for Log and colour grading I’d be happy to listen.

D-Day +82

For the first time in 4 years I am spending the 6th of June, at home.

I’m not in Devon commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Assault Training Centre, like I was in 2023.

I’m not flying above Omaha Beach in a C-130, like I was in 2024

And I’m not waiting on Omaha Beach for R4D and two MC-130’s to perform a commemorative fly over the American Cemetery, like I was in 2025.

I am not saying this to brag, but to highlight the reason why it’s important to remember what happened 82 years ago today.

Without the sacrifice paid by thousands of allied troops on the 6th of June 1944, I’d not have been able to experience any of that. We’d all be living very different lives. So take this opportunity to remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live the way we do today.

We mustn’t forget why D-Day happened. After all, those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

Bluebird K7 on Coniston

Almost 60 years on from the tragic events of January 4th 1967 Donald Campbell’s Bluebird K7 returned to Coniston.
A monumental effort from everyone involved in its recovery, restoration, and continuing legacy.

I sadly missed the high speed run on Friday when K7 lifted out of the water and onto the plane. However I’ve seen the videos and it looks incredible. So these photos are from Thursday when the weather was somewhat playing ball.

90 years ago, on the 17th of December 1935, the first Douglas DC-3 took to the skies. It would change the world. From airliners to troop transporters this versatile aircraft has done it all.

The silhouette of this twin engine transport is unmistakable in the sky. You may have even seen one of these aircraft at an airshow or in a museum as out of the 16,000 originally built there’s still a few kicking around.

I’ve been lucky enough to fly on and get inside several derivatives of this aircraft across Europe, and have made some great friendships thanks to this type. Vintage aviation is certainly special. Here’s to another 90 years.

We have a very special video coming next week. Join our presenter .simpson as he talks to about the incredible Hawker Hurricane P3351.

The airframe itself is a Battle of France, Battle of Britain and Eastern Front veteran. Recently put back in the sky by the team at .

It has been finished to represent P3143, or NN D from No.310 (Czechoslovak) Squadron RAF. A well documented airframe of the time, which was based at RAF Duxford during the Battle of Britain. It returned to Duxford airfield for the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Jiří ferried the aircraft from its home base, near Prague and went on to display amongst an extraordinary gathering of no fewer than EIGHT Hurricanes.

It was my first time at yesterday (perks of working with ). All of the stands were incredible with so many cool, innovative, and new bikes on show.

My favourite part of the show has to be the Moto Action Show. Watching these guys do their thing inside was insane. I got this shot of shortly after he had worked his was up onto the top of this container.
