Snapdragon Photography Wedding and Event Photographer based in North Devon So, here’s the section where I tell you a bit about me. I've not once looked back. I am so, so grateful.

Unfortunately, you’re not going to read that it was a passion of mine since I was a little one. I did have some experience and my Mum was a keen amateur but I wanted to become a pro lacrosse player!! I’m a thirty something welsh lass who found love with a Devon lad and made the move from the hustle and bustle of Cardiff to the beautiful serene coast of North Devon. We married in Sept 2015 and in J

uly 2019 we welcomed our gorgeous baby boy into the world. I’m a chocoholic, a gig pig, Glasto goer and ex lacrosse player (not pro unfortunately!). I’ve never drank a cup of coffee or tea before (I know! Weird huh?!) and I’ve only recently learnt to swim (a must when you live in North Devon!). Yep, that’s right, I’m one of those cliché people who made a New Year’s resolution to chase a dream, life’s too short, YOLO, hakuna matata and all that... I bought a camera, invested in a course of lessons, embarked on many, many hours of shadowing one of Devon’s top wedding photographers, and here I am! I pinch myself often because I cannot believe this is my job now! Check out my blog to find out more. So, if you're looking for your photography experience to be fun and enjoyable, from the time where you enquire to receiving your images then look no further.

JANE & PETER 💚
Elopement | Millbrook Estate

Jane & Peter opted to get ready together the morning of their wedding and I love that idea. It takes the pressure / nerves off seeing one another for the first time at the ceremony. There’s reassurance from one another if you’re getting nervous and you get to walk down towards your ceremony together. Such precious moments.

Most of the time it’s like I wasn’t there, J&P were completely locked in on one another which led to some beautiful moments photographed by moi 🙃 this elopement was a joy to edit. Those of you who know me know I love green too so I was completely swooning over Jane’s dress!!

Some of the best moments of your wedding day happen so fast, you blink and miss them.

A glance across the table. A touch. A moment between the two of you when no one else is watching.

No posing. No instructions. Just real moments unfolding naturally. Those tiny flashes? They’re the ones that make your photos feel alive, and they're exactly what I love to document.

If you're planning your wedding for 2026, 2027 or even 2028, I would love to tell your story in a way that feels like you 🧡

If you feel awkward in front of the camera… you’re honestly not alone.
Most couples tell me the exact same thing.

And the good news? You really don’t need to know how to pose 😅

I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve to get you moving, talking, laughing… basically just forgetting the camera is even there.

We’ll walk, chat, maybe even dance! By the end, you’ll be surprised at how natural it all feels.

I’ll quietly be catching all the moments you didn’t even know were happening.
So relax, trust me… and just enjoy being in each others company.

Good wedding photography, isn’t just about getting a set of pictures.

It’s about tuning in to how everyone is feeling.
Noticing the small interactions, the energy in the room.
Knowing when to step in to guide, when to give space, or when a quiet pause is exactly what’s needed.
And making it all flow naturally, so the day feels like your own, without any awkward pauses or forced poses.
if you’re looking for a wedding photographer that blends in, I’ve still got dates left for 2026 and 2027- get in touch now.

TW: discussing loss

I didn’t want to talk about this on my socials but since I’ve decided to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, I’m going to share it here so we can raise as much money as we can for this charity.

There’s so much more I could say about James, but as I mentioned in the video, I’ve recorded this so many times, I just need to get it out there.

You can find my donation page here:

Thank you for listening and for any donations big or small. I appreciate each and every one of you.

If anyone else is going through a similar experience and wants to chat, my DM’a are always open.

Tell people you love them often and take the damn photo xx

One of my favourite parts of the day is before it properly begins.

Guests arriving.
Hugs at the door.
Last minute additions to the cake.
Excited energy getting ready.

The room is set, everything’s in place, and there’s that quiet buzz before it fills up.
It’s gone before it even began.
But it says a lot about the day before anything’s even happened.

I photograph a lot of self-confessed “awkward potatoes.”

People who tell me they hate having their photo taken. Trying to convince me they’re “not natural” in front of a camera.

And honestly… I get it.

Because most people don’t feel like themselves when they’re told to stand still and smile on command.

So that’s what I don’t do, I keep things moving. I chat to my couples, make them laugh (occasionally…)

You spend time together instead of worrying about your hands, your smile… or how cold you are.

There’s no pressure to perform, no expectation to be anything other than yourselves.

And somewhere along the way, it starts to feel a lot easier than you thought it would.

Most of the time, you’ll forget I’m even there… until you notice I’ve been quietly creeping around documenting all the best bits.

I honestly have always been the one with the camera.

There are so many photos of me as a kid with one in my hand, pointing it at anything and everything. Family days out, random moments at home, most likely annoying everyone at the time 😅.

I got the trait from my mum. She was always taking photos of us and getting us together for group pics. I then took on that role with my friends and even more so now as a mum myself; the older I get, the more important photos are to me.

People often tell me their favourite photo of a loved one is one I’ve taken, at a wedding, or another special moment, and they’re no longer with us. That makes it even more special to me.

I don’t think I ever thought about taking photos too much. I just liked documenting things as they were happening.

And more than that, I loved looking back at them afterwards. Remembering who was there. What it felt like. All the little bits you’d otherwise forget.

It feels quite full circle that this is what I get to do now. Just on slightly bigger days… with slightly better cameras.

It’s so easy to think that wedding photography is all about the big moments.

The confetti, the speeches, the first dance - the ones where everyone gets all together.

And don’t get me wrong… I love those just as much as you do.

I’ll be right there, making sure everything runs smoothly and no one wanders off at the wrong moment (trust me - it happens more than you’d think!!).

But those aren’t the only moments I look for.

I’m noticing everything happening in between.

The quick hand squeezes.
The moment someone suddenly clocks the photographer who’s been hiding behind a plant 🪴
The “please don’t tell that story” glance during the speeches.
The small interactions that will almost always go unnoticed.

The moments you won’t remember, because you were busy in the middle of it all.
That’s where I get the most joy.

So while you’re enjoying the big, obvious moments, I’m gently reading the room, keeping an eye on everything around you, catching the quieter bits as they unfold.

The memories that don’t shout for attention… but end up meaning the most when you see them back.

BELLA & WILL 💛

The best way to kick start my 2026 wedding season. A glorious sunny day, kind caring people and oodles of DIY to revel in.

I cannot begin to tell you how much effort went into all the details of the day. When I arrived, Mother of the Bride, Sally-Ann was busy finishing off the brides and bridesmaids bouquets, alongside her was a team of people finishing off buttonholes and various floral displays.

The place mats were crocheted by Bella (82 of them!!) and they’ll be made into a blanket (love that idea).

The place name favours were made by Bella and Will and each individually stamped with each guests name (I even had one!).

Polaroid pictures of each guest were hung up as the table plan (we did this for our wedding too!! I know first hand how much effort goes into that alone).

Bunting, streamers, mums wedding veil, favourite ice creams from Oxford… I could go on.

There was no way this wasn’t going to be a good day, with Bella and Will’s zest for life and clear admiration for one another, the day was simply perfect.

Bella and Will have this incredible zest for life and such a natural ease with each other. You could feel it in everything. Even down to their personal vows… which were almost identical 😂

Thank you B&W for allowing me in to your world, for welcoming me with open arms and creme egg ice cream. Wishing you both fun and amazing adventures ahead.
