I had a fabulous brief from a client for a shoot a couple of weeks ago: a series of black and white photographs of the children for a hallway gallery wall - fun and relaxed, bright, lifestyle lighting. They even brought their gorgeous cat. Natalie Freemantle

🍁Wow Autumn sessions have been popular this year! They kick off next week and we have just one mini session left on Sunday 1st, but I suspect it won’t last long. It’s looking beautiful up in the woods. Info in bio if you want to bag the last one.

Don’t get me wrong, I do a little happy dance when a client allows me to share their photographs! I’m an artist and love to share my work. But I don’t expect it. They are your images and I fully respect your decisions and your reasons for keeping your images private. We always ask permission in advance and you should never feel guilty or embarrassed to say no.

Is it just me, or is the Christmas excitement starting? 🎄

This week I’ve started adding Christmas parties to the diary and spotting presents while I’ve been out in the shops. And last weekend we got all Christmassy in the studio and did our first shoots on our Christmas backdrop.

We’ve got two very exciting Christmas photo opportunities this year:

🌲 Saturday 7th November: mini sessions at the Narnia-esque Christmas Tree Place – Berkhamsted’s very own Christmas tree farm. 20 minutes, three digital images included, £100.

✨ Saturday 28th November: studio mini sessions on our Christmas backdrop, just like this photo. 10 minutes, one digital image included, £39.

Both are suitable for teens, children, babies, dogs, grandparents - every family member. You’ll find the details in our bio, but they will book up quickly, so if you fancy one, go and take a look.

The trees do a lot of the work for us, so you really don’t need to overthink it. Pick a palette, add some cosy layers, and let the little ones run wild.

Bring the teenagers. Seriously. 🎄

We know the eye-roll that comes with “family photos.” Ceri and I have three teenagers between us, so we’ve heard every version of it.

But put even the most reluctant teen in a Christmas tree farm, with the crisp air, the fairy lights and the smell of pine, and they can’t help but smile. No stiff poses, just a bit of festive magic and two photographers who know how to win them over.
