Before this, I spent 15+ years in tech leading software and product projects for mission-driven organisations. In honour of this evening’s solar eclipse 🌙✨

My beautiful friend Maggie of Maggie McCann | Sustainable Textiles fashion Designer, sustainable fashion designer and all-round creative soul, at the Wickerman Gathering ☀️

Earlier that evening, we looked up to see what we thought was a thin rainbow completely surrounding the sun. We later discovered we’d witnessed a solar halo 🌈☀️

Unfortunately… when you hire me as your photographer, you get more than just a photographer 😉📸

You also get a marketer, creative director, occasional web consultant, content creator, problem solver and professional hype woman!

Before starting my photography business, I spent 15+ years working in tech across product development, digital and marketing. And having started my own business in my 40s, I know how daunting it can feel to suddenly have to show up online and market your wares 😅

So when we plan your shoot, I’m not just thinking about taking lovely photos. I’m thinking about your website, social media, content, the stories you want to tell and how your images can actually work for your business.

And if the thought of being in front of the camera fills you with dread, I get that too! I’ll guide you all the way and make the whole experience feel as relaxed as possible ❤️

There are only so many times you can post a portrait or headshot! 📸

More than new headshots, a brand shoot should give you a library of images that helps you tell the story of what you do ❤️

When we planned Heather’s brand shoot for Daisy Fox Solutions, the aim was to create a varied gallery images she could actually use across her marketing.

Heather works with arts, heritage and community organisations, helping them with everything from project evaluation and impact reporting to funding and storytelling. As she often uses Canva designs & carousels in her own content, detail shots were just as important as portraits.

We incorporated reports, books and other meaningful (and colourful!) props connected to her work, alongside more everyday details, creating 50+ images for future content.

And by choosing a neutral, versatile space, change of outfits, props and backdrop, we could create completely different sets of images in one shoot.

Location: We chose Thread for its versatile neutral backdrops and brilliant selection of props, making it easy to create lots of different looks in one space. A big shout out to owner Shelley, who had everything beautifully prepared for us and kept us comfortable during the heatwave! ❤️

A few highlights from the Wickerman Gathering at Navan Fort, Armagh last Saturday 🔥

The event celebrates the ancient Celtic festival of Lughnasa, honouring the harvest season with live music, storytelling, artisan crafts, historical reenactments, and the burning of an impressive 30-foot Wickerman 🔥

Such a unique event and so much fun to capture! It also turned into a lovely reunion with some of the brilliant women from the Spark It business programme ❤️

A huge well done to everyone involved in putting on such a spectacular event 👏🔥
