If you had to pull out three real lessons from running your business, what would they be?

What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever been through?

In this clip, .mcgaharan shares what it was like to lose his mum in September 2023—while still showing up and growing his business.

He speaks honestly about grief, loss, and what it really looks like to lead during one of the hardest seasons of life.

She raised him to care deeply about doing great work. That value became something he could hold onto, even in the midst of grief.

Knowing when to walk away is one of the hardest things to navigate in business & in life.

When I ignore my intuition, it usually comes back to bite me later, and it’s always a painful lesson.

Why do we do it?

Is it fear of letting people down?

Is it people pleasing?

Or is it a lack of courage to do the hard thing?

I love how .mcgaharan is so open about the mistakes he has made when he has ignored his gut,

and how fierce he is now on his journey to set clear boundaries.

Sometimes, quitting can feel impossible.

You convince yourself you’re on the right path, but finally your soul wakes up and lets you know it’s time to move on.

This year, I am excited to share all the work that I created in 2025 and all the beautiful stories I got to craft.

As a storyteller, it’s my pride and joy to be able to interview people on their orgins, what they have gone through,

what they have done with their life and what they have overcome.

I am excited to share the conversation I had with .mcgaharan where we sat down to have a purposeful conversation about Tony’s career story,

the birth of his business , and what running the business has been like over the last 5 years.

There have been many highs and many lows over this time, and we go deeply into experiences in both areas.

I had the most relaxing Christmas break for the first time ever,

Filled with a trip to our favourite spa where my husband and I got engaged( kid free for two nights)

Lots of visiting family, going for walks, eating & watching afternoon movies

Followed by another two nights away with our baba in the new year.

I’m super grateful for 2025 and how focused & determined I was to build the life and business of my dreams.

I’m so excited for 2026 as I continue to build this business, tell beautiful stories & prepare for baby number 2 🥰

October, you really stretched me and pushed beyond my perceived limits,

taught me some hard lessons and helped me adjust to this new version of my life yet again.

The last while has been a big transition as I navigate my second pregnancy, whilst growing my beautiful family and building my business.

I’m learning to find pockets of rest and recharge and this season has taught me so much about my own perceived limits and what I’m capable of.

Everything is beautiful and also hard at the same time which can feel conflicting.

I always go back to my gratitude of this life I get to live and build with my wonderful husband who will be a father of two boys in March 🥰🙏🏾

November, my intention is to slow down, rest more and continue to find the pockets of joy, slowness and rejuvenation.

Every year, this time of year challenges me in the best way and I’ve just got to hold on tight and see what comes through the other end.

5 years ago I quit my job and went full time self employed.

I honestly had no idea what I was doing or how I would build the life I have now.

I couldn’t edit a video.

I didn’t know how to use a camera.

I didn’t know anything about running a business.

But what I did know was that I was passionate about telling stories and creating space for that.

The early days of being self employed is full of adrenaline passion,

matched with fear and imposter syndrome because I had no idea how I was going to make a living from this.

At the start I had no money, no skill and only a vision getting me to the next stage.

I bought a $48 online filmmaking course that honestly changed my life and that was where I started.

One client, led to another client and I just had to build aggressively these last 5 years.

There’s been many highs and many times I’ve wanted to quit because it felt too hard, but I held my nerve and stuck at it.

Now I’m working with dream clients, building a business that fulfils me and truly getting to exercise my divine gifts.

3 lessons I’ve learned on my journey so far:

🙏🏾 Show up and do you very best on each project and that will get you the next job

🙏🏾 Be confident in yourself and accept you won’t be for everyone

🙏🏾 Always believe in your vision and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise

I’m so grateful for the opportunities and that I get to do this.

I’ve worked so hard and will continue to create the work I love and tell powerful stories!

Let’s hope I’m here 10 years from now sharing my reflections on business.

Why is it important for you to tell your story?

First off, it builds connection.

It gives you the opportunity to show up and be seen.

It allows you to reflect on your life and see how far you’ve come.

When I work with my clients, I know that they have chosen me because I will challenge them to go deeper.

I will challenge them to be vulnerable (without oversharing) and to go to places they haven’t ventured before.

Most of all, I show them that their story is worth telling.

It’s not an easy process to go through because it can leave you feeling exposed and raw.

Sometimes we want to hide from that.

However, my intention is to always navigate with care and create value for you and your audience.

I don’t work with people who just want to tell surface-level stories.

I don’t work with people who just want to share the highlight reel of their life.

I only work with brave and courageous business people who are ready to show up as they are,

Who are ready to own their story and

show the impact they have created in their lives.

Someone asked me recently, What do I love most about what I do?

The first thing that came to mind was - I get to tell people's stories.

For as long as I can remember, I've been fascinated by listening to conversations, watching interviews, and learning about people from different backgrounds and how they've succeeded in life.

I had a multicultural upbringing. My mum is Northern Irish, my dad is Ugandan, I was born in Sudan, and I grew up in Egypt.

Different cultures have always surrounded me, and I love seeing the crossover of cultures and understanding that storytelling is the same all over the world.

I love interviewing people and creating space for them to tell their story.

No frills, no jargon, just honest conversation.

I set up my film production company, , because I was passionate about creating space for other people and listening to what they have to say.

I am honestly so grateful that people trust me to listen, capture them on film, and create beautiful content of who they are - whether it's their business or individuals.

That's what I love about what I do, and I've gotten to work with People Playbook and other clients, telling stories all over the world.

Last year, I failed and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.

I became a new mama and it was amazing & so challenging trying to navigate running a business and learning my new responsibilities as a mama.

I would wake up at 3am a few times a week to get my work done.

I would skip the gym because I thought I had no time.

I would be so anxious with my work because I knew I wasn’t hitting the mark.

Then I started to really make major mistakes that nearly cost me my clients.

After some really hard and difficult conversations with my husband, my clients and myself, I realised that I had to change or I’d loose everything.

I started to sleep more.

I rejoined the gym.

I started building a healthier relationship with myself and rebuild up after what felt like a massive failure.

I really struggled because I never really heard many stories of what it’s really like having a business after having a baby.

But I was on my own path of discovery and learned what has worked for me.

After months of being consistent, investing thousands into my business & building my team,

It’s amazing to see how far I’ve come.

My biggest failure fuelled me and the last 6 months have been such a dream come true.

Getting to travel the world with my family and tell amazing stories is everything I’ve ever wanted.

Some days are hard AF and other days I’m in love with the process.

One thing I respect about myself is that I never quit or give up.

What it looks like travelling the world with my family.

This week we were in Barcelona filming the first episode of a three part live podcast series with

This is one of my favourite type of things I get to work on.

I get to hear powerful stories.

Meet new people and

challenge myself to keep reaching a higher level.

Working with has honestly pushed me to be my best and show me what it’s like to perform at a high level.

It’s hard.

It’s emotional.

It’s inspiring.

Sometimes I do feel imposter syndrome and can definitely feel fear around these big moments.

But I also work alongside great people who make this so much fun and teach me so much.

Getting to travel with my family and doing this work is a dream come true.

We have our moments of stress but at the end of it, my husband & I always say “we can’t believe this is our life”.

Super grateful for this life and all the beautiful things that are unfolding.

This week I’m filming at the Waterfront Hall, then fly to Birmingham and then Boston next week.
