When should you book your newborn photographer?

Here is the truth.

Newborns change fast.
One minute they are curled up and sleepy, the next they are stretching out, noticing the world, and discovering their limbs. If you want those tiny, dreamy, curled up images, timing matters.

The best time to book your newborn session is during your second trimester, usually between 20 and 30 weeks. It gives you peace of mind knowing your spot is secured and you can relax before baby arrives.

Once you are booked in, I hold a flexible window in my diary around your due date. When baby arrives, you just send me a message and we pick a day that suits you.

The optimum time to photograph your baby is within the first two weeks after birth. During this time they are still tiny, sleepy and naturally curled in that beautiful newborn way that defines The Snug Sessions style.

After two weeks babies are more alert and start stretching out. Still beautiful, just a different type of session with more movement, more eye contact and more awake moments.

If you are due between April and October, book even earlier. This is my busiest time and dates fill quickly.

The Snug Sessions are slow, calm and baby led. You do not need a perfect house or a routine. You just need to be present and let the morning unfold.

A very overdue update 🙃
2023 was an insanely busy year over at .martins.photography and I also spent the majority of the year building this little wonder being so this little corner of the internet just didn't get updated as I would have liked
Jackson made his arrival in October and I've been soaking up every ounce of him during my maternity leave, obviously I had to get a teeny shoot in when he was fresh but life with a wildling toddler and newborn gets a little crazy 🤪 so enjoy his freshness almost 4 months later!

This is what we say to Wednesday 😜
Wow 2021 was a bit of a blur, between lots of gorgeous babies ariving, attempting to get out of the house with a stroppy constantly sick toddler and finally getting to spend time with the fam over the holidays, I'm enjoying the slow pace that 2022 has brought so far

I have limited spaces in February and March for snug sessions, if you're considering booking a session please get in touch asap to secure a slot, I can't always gaurentee space once baby has arrived and it breaks my heart having to say no to excited parents 😔

Henry 8 days new
Yesterday snug session was just a dream and to top it off this little guy has the most gorgeous nursery full of skandi style and tones that make my heart happy
Did you know that lifestyle images like this in a more casual setting come part of your session. I like to make sure I get you a variety of images from the posed setups to parent and sibling photos they're all included!

Such a gorgeous evening on Tuesday for Rachel's maternity session
Documenting your pregnancy is so special, I didn't get to do a maternity shoot for my own pregnancy and I've got serious regrets, It's such a hazy memory now I really wish I had captured it properly

Oh it's so good to be back to work!
Today I had the absolute privalge of capturing these two adorable ladies 🥰
It reminded me of how quickly our babies grow, Lucy is now hitting 5 months and she is so done with being a baby, these moments really do go by in a flash 😭
