Introducing Maxine Joy Warren! This little girl is everything we ever could have dreamed of and more! We are adjusting to our new life as a family and enjoying the best snuggles. We are all learning new things every day (like the difference between daytime and nighttime 🤪) but having fun doing it.

Nathan is of course the best partner as I recover. And the greatest dad, which was never a doubt!

We were blessed to work with the BEST team to bring this girl into the world! We were so cared for and enjoyed every moment of working with and Jillian 😍

Maxine is the middle name of my Grandma Ramsey, the most influential person in my life, and so special to both me and Nathan. Joy really sums up what this entire season has been for us as hopeful, and then expecting parents.

We are tired. But we are so very happy!

Yesterday marked 11 years of being married! We truly know each other so much better and love each other so much more than we could have ever thought possible when we said yes to forever.
We’ve had many adventures together over the years, and starting a new one soon as we prepare to meet a baby girl!

I celebrate a special holiday every year, Leg Day on April 9. The anniversary of a scary day turned very joyful day. A reminder to live life to the fullest and to be thankful for each moment.

My only photoshoot of the winter was right after a big snow with my best dog and wearing my Grandma’s cape! I loooove the movement of this elegant outerwear (and I’ve used it in another winter photoshoot before!) It was -10°F during this very quick shoot. I was by myself, so back to my self portrait roots. 📸💁🏻‍♀️ And I actually had no clue what the photos looked like because my fingers were frozen 🥶, I couldn’t see the screen from the glare of the snow ❄️, and I had precious few moments to work with before my camera would stop working 📷🚫!

FLOWER INSPIRED SERIES continues with the Canna 😍🌸🍃

These tall beauties have large leaves and a pop of bright color at the top. I stared at them while I floated in the pool this summer. When listening to Chihiro by Billie Eilish, the idea for clothing that could mimic this flower came to me!

I wore my Grandma’s scarf as a dress because it had both green and red, the colors of the canna! Then I got some green fabric and sewed the edges to make a cape that represented the large billowing leaves. (I made some hair clips that were a horrible and hilarious fail😂)

These photos were taken on my Canon camera with self timer. I’ll post more later that were taken on film cameras! The photoshoot day was super windy, but that helped with some fun shots with the cape!

My flowers in my backyard bring me inspiration and joy! I love taking care of them and sharing them, and just looking at them!

SPAIN ON FILM!! I told Nathan I wanted to do two things in Barcelona, and first up was going inside to tour La Sagrada Familia. In college I stood outside this gorgeous church and took some photos, so going back with Nathan for the full experience was so special! When we walked inside the doors for the first time, and I looked up at the ceiling several floors up I started crying! The beauty was overwhelming! And thinking about how many people had come inside these doors over the years to worship, learn, or mark something off their bucket list…just really beautiful and made me so thankful to be there!

I had multiple cameras strapped on me for this entire trip, but for Barcelona I had a different roll of film than my usual. This film captures more reds and is a little darker/moodier, and I love how Barcelona turned out with it!!

Have you visited this church before?! It’s the perfect mix of precise architecture and creative artistry!

BELFAST ON FILM!! We took a train to Northern Ireland one day and had a tour and did a little exploring. I found a gorgeous leather jacket at a vintage store (currently being cleaned in time for the winter season!) I always think of Ireland as being a very “green” place….and it IS! It rains a lot and has a great, mild climate for the most plush countrysides (last photos 😍) and also hanging baskets EVERYWHERE! I loved looking at all the flowers on houses and businesses and am dreaming of adding some baskets to the front of my house now!

As always, trips like this are better with friends, and I have the best ones 😍😍 they were so sweet to tolerate me constantly taling their photos and dragging out my multiple cameras at every location 😂

Castles in Ireland on Film!! We visited Slane Castle and Kilkenny Castle on our trip. Both places were peaceful and magical and surrounded by so much beautiful green space.

Wicklow Sheep Farm on Film!!! One of my most favorite experiences from the trip! We watched Rob the border collie direct his sheep and learn about the history of the family business. We also got to hold lambs that were less than a week old. So special to do this with friends! Nathan Warren Rachel Samuel
