🐾 MONDAY… LET’S DO THIS! 🐾

We thought we’d start the week with a little bit of woodland gorgeousness — and the very handsome Oscar seemed more than qualified for the job. ❤️

Standing amongst the ferns, ears on full alert and looking like he owns several acres of the place… Oscar absolutely nailed his session. 😂

There’s something rather special about photographing dogs outdoors — no stiff poses, no fuss, just letting them be themselves and capturing those expressions and little moments that make them them.

So from Oscar, Cheryl and me, have a fantastic Monday and a brilliant week ahead. And remember… more walks, more treats and absolutely no listening when somebody says “you’ve had enough biscuits.” 🤣🐾

🐾 LIKE FATHER, LIKE SONS… ❤️

There’s something rather special about this one.

Three Boxer puppies.
Three photographs taken at just over 8 weeks old.
In the same woods.
In the same place.

But almost three years apart. ❤️

The handsome little chap in the middle is Buzz — photographed when he was just over eight weeks old.

And either side of him are two of his sons, photographed recently at exactly the same age.

Looking at them together, we’re not entirely sure whether Buzz should be feeling incredibly proud… or slightly concerned that his younger replacements have arrived. 😂🐾

There are definitely little bits of Dad in both of them — the eyes, the expressions, the wrinkles… and that unmistakable Boxer ability to look simultaneously adorable, serious and ever so slightly confused by life. 🤣

Of course, these photographs are particularly precious to us because these two little fellas belong to our daughter and her boyfriend, so we’ll have the absolute joy of watching them grow up — and probably photographing them far more often than they consider strictly necessary. 😂❤️

And this is exactly why I love what I do.

At the time, it’s a photograph of an eight-week-old puppy.

A few years later, it becomes part of a family story. ❤️

If you’ve recently welcomed a puppy into your family, don’t wait for them to grow into those paws. They change ridiculously quickly, and those tiny faces, oversized feet and puppy wrinkles are gone before you know it.

🐾❤️ HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY! ❤️🐾

Well… if ever there was a day made for us, this is probably it! 😂

To celebrate National Dog Day, we thought we'd share just a few of the wonderful faces we've had the absolute pleasure of photographing.

Big dogs. Little dogs.
Old souls and crazy puppies.
The perfectly behaved… and the ones who had absolutely no intention whatsoever of cooperating. 😂🐾

Every one completely different.
Every one somebody's best friend.
And every one very, very loved. ❤️

After all these years photographing dogs, that's still the bit we love most — getting to know the character behind those four paws and creating photographs that their families will treasure long after the muddy footprints have disappeared.

So today, here's to ALL the dogs — the comedians, the companions, the sock thieves, the bed hogs, the mud magnets and the very best friends we could ever ask for. 🥰

🐾 WELL… WE MIGHT BE JUST A LITTLE BIT PROUD OF THIS ONE! ❤️

Every now and then, a photograph means a little bit more to us personally… and this is definitely one of those.

Meet nine ridiculously gorgeous little Boxer puppies — expertly created by the beautiful Nala… with a small contribution from a certain handsome chap we know rather well.

Yep… our Buzz is the Dad. 🥹❤️

And before anyone asks — no, he hasn't helped with the night feeds, the cleaning, the childcare or contributed financially in any way whatsoever.

Apparently his work here was done. 😂😂

Last week we had the absolute pleasure of photographing the whole litter before they start heading off to their wonderful new homes this week.

Nine puppies.

Nine personalities.

Nine sets of Boxer eyes.

Approximately 437 attempts to get everybody looking in vaguely the same direction. 🤣

And this was the result. ❤️

We genuinely couldn't be prouder of them — or of Nala, who has been an absolutely wonderful mum. Seeing all these beautiful little faces together, knowing that Buzz is their dad, made this session incredibly special for both Cheryl and me.

They're now about to start the next chapter of their lives with their new families, where we have absolutely no doubt they'll bring years of love, laughter, chewed slippers, stolen socks, inexplicable smells and the occasional complete destruction of something that apparently looked expensive. 😂🐾

And if you're looking at this photograph thinking…

“Wow — you did well to get that one shot!”

Oh, bless you. 😂

Of course there were a few others… just thrown in for good measure. 📸😉

After 22 years photographing dogs, we've learned that patience, timing and a slightly questionable sense of humour are pretty much essential equipment — particularly when your subjects have four legs and absolutely no interest whatsoever in your carefully planned photograph.

These are the moments we absolutely LOVE creating.

Because puppies grow up ridiculously quickly, grey hairs appear far too soon, and one day photographs like these become completely priceless. ❤️

🐾 MEET KOJI… AND YES, HE KNOWS HE’S HANDSOME! 🐾

Some dogs are family.

Some dogs are the apple of Dad’s eye. ❤️

And then there’s Koji… an absolutely magnificent Akita who appears to have his dad wrapped firmly around his paw! 😂

There’s something rather special about photographing a dog like Koji — that combination of strength, character, dignity… and just a little bit of “I’m fairly sure everyone has come here specifically to admire me.” 😎🐾

And to be fair… he may have a point!

This is exactly why we love what we do. We’re not just taking photographs of dogs — we’re capturing the personality, the character and the relationship that makes your dog so incredibly special to you.

🐾 SOME PHOTOGRAPHS BECOME MORE PRECIOUS WITH EVERY PASSING YEAR… ❤️

We were incredibly sad to hear that one of our old friends, Pirate, has passed away.

We photographed Pirate when he was already 13 years old, almost completely deaf, partially blind and very much enjoying his retirement from being a young pup.

But none of that stopped him from being a proper little superstar. 🥰

And it seems Pirate knew exactly what he was doing…

His mum, Anna, recently left us this beautiful message:

Honestly… this is exactly why we do what we do. ❤️

Because photographs aren't really about today.

They're about the years afterwards.

They're about the face you can still look at, the little expression that instantly brings them back, and those memories that become even more precious when they're no longer running around the garden demanding treats.

Pirate may have been an old boy, but he was still Pirate — and that's what we wanted to capture.

His character. His dignity. His cheekiness.

And, of course, his undeniable modelling ability. 🤭🐾

So if you've been thinking “I really must get some proper photographs of my dog”…

Please don't wait for the perfect time.

Especially if your dog is getting older.

They don't need to be young.
They don't need to sit perfectly.
They don't need to be a professional model.

They just need to be themselves.

And that's what we're here to capture.

WE’RE BACK… SORT OF! 😂🐾

Sorry we’ve been a little quiet on here lately — we’re only just starting to get back into the swing of things.

I’m very pleased to report that Cheryl is doing really well and is well on the way to recovery following her hip replacement. ❤️

We were just getting everything back into place, getting the cameras ready and looking forward to getting out photographing your gorgeous dogs again…

…and then the British weather decided to turn the heating up to “SOD OFF, IT’S TOO HOT!” 🥵😂

As a result, we’ve had to rearrange six sessions in the last four days! 🫣

We absolutely love photographing dogs outdoors, but keeping them safe and comfortable always comes first. There’s no photograph worth putting a dog through an uncomfortable session for.

So, we’re easing ourselves back in, keeping a very close eye on the temperatures and looking forward to getting back out into the woods properly very soon.

Cheryl is recovering, the cameras are ready, and the dogs are waiting… now if someone could just have a word with the weather, that would be brilliant! 😂🐶📸

Thanks so much for your patience and for all the lovely messages while Cheryl has been recovering. ❤️

🎉 Happy Friday everyone! 🎉

Meet the very handsome Preston... proving once again that someone has to take the important job of looking seriously magnificent! 😄

While everyone else is thinking about the weekend, Preston's already standing there like he's the Head of Woodland Security... making sure every squirrel has the correct paperwork! 🌳🐿️
