The wide shot tells you what a kitchen looks like.

The detail shot tells you why someone chose it.

A teal island against neutral cabinetry is a decision. The cookbook shelf built into the base of the island, the teal barstools echoing the colour back across the room, the tonal glass pendants overhead. None of this happened by accident.

When I’m photographing a kitchen at this level I’m thinking about both. The image that shows the whole space and the image that shows the thinking behind it.
Because the next client who sees this needs to understand what Vicky brings to a project before they’ve even picked up the phone.

Interior photography isn’t just about the getting those wide shots, it’s also getting the details in.

The X Pure in matte black, downdraft extraction built flush into the hob surface.

The oven, brushed steel logo sitting against black glass.

The pop-up socket rising out of a marble worktop.

These aren’t afterthoughts. They’re the decisions that separate a kitchen that cost £30,000 from one that cost £8,000. And they’re the details a prospective client needs to see before they understand what they’re actually paying for.

The details are where the value lives, and that what I deliver.

Same kitchen. Same angle. Two very different feelings.

One feels bright, clean and airy.
The other feels warm, moody and more premium.

Neither is wrong. They just do different jobs.

That’s the thing with interior photography, it’s not just about showing the space, it’s about shaping how the space is perceived.

A lighter look can feel fresh, minimal and lifestyle-led.
A darker look can feel richer, more atmospheric and more design-focused.

Same composition.
