Your iPhone can do so much more than you think… here’s another simple tip you’ll actually use!

Hidden iPhone features no.5 – Stop Sending Blurry Photos on WhatsApp

Did you know WhatsApp can send your photos in HD? If you don’t switch this on, your pictures are often compressed before they’re sent.

Here’s how to fix it:

1. Select the photo you want to send in WhatsApp
2. Tap the HD button on the top right of the photo screen
3. Tap Send and enjoy sending a much sharper image!

It’s a tiny change that makes a huge difference, especially if you’re sharing family photos, holiday snaps or pictures for work.

Save this so you don’t forget it, and send it to that one friend or family member who always complains that WhatsApp ruins their photos! 😂

And if there’s an iPhone feature you’ve always wondered about, drop it in the comments below—it might be my next tip! 🙂

The best camera is the one you’ve got with you… so here’s another simple iPhone tip to help you get even more from it

iPhone Tip no.4 – Size Matters So Fill the Screen!

Ever wondered why your photos don’t fill the whole screen on FB, Instagram or TikTok? Chances are you’re using the wrong aspect ratio.

Here’s how to fix it:

1. Open your Camera app
2. Tap the row of dots in the top right corner
3. Tap the Aspect Ratio button in the bottom right corner
4. Select 16:9
5. Now your photos will make much better use of the screen, giving your content a more polished look

It’s a tiny change that can make a big difference, especially if you love sharing photos and videos online or with friends and family.

Save this so you don’t forget it, and send it to that friend who’s always posting videos with black bars or cropped-off footage! 😂

iPhone tip no.2 - focus

Don’t let your phone decide what’s in focus. Here’s how to take back control.

This is a simple one once you know what you’re doing.

1. Before you take a photo or video just tap the screen on the main subject.

2. You’ll see a yellow box come up. This tells you it’s worked and whatever you tapped should now be the subject of your photo or video. (Which means it’s in focus.)

3. Done! Do this every time and whatever’s important will always be in focus.

Annoyed by taking selfies and seeing that any writing in the pic looks backwards? (Like in a mirror). Here’s how to fix it!

Go to:
Settings
⬇️
Camera
⬇️
Mirror Front Camera - set it to ‘off’

Done! Now all your selfies (photo + video) won’t look like they’re taken in a mirror. Awesome!

Big news!

I’m excited to be taking part in my first in-person workshop on the 21st of April right here in Newbury.

I’m working with the fabulous Rebecca from Softly Social and together we’ll take you through everything from the difference between reels and stories to how to get the best shots using just your phone.

So if social media is a mystery to you and you don’t know where to start OR you hate the thought of doing it but know your business needs it, then this is the workshop for you.

For more details - see link in bio or in the comments below.

Or drop me a DM! You better hurry though, there’s only a few spots left!

Excited to be taking part in this workshop next week - check it out for more info! Then join us! 🙂

Excited to be taking part in this workshop next week - check it out for more info! Then join us! 🙂

I’m running a workshop in Newbury next Tuesday (21st April). It’s called From Camera-Shy to Content Ready, and it’s all about creating simple, effective social media videos.

It is not a "how to go viral" session. It is also not a masterclass in Reels trends, posting schedules or anything that requires you to show up in a way that doesn't feel like you.

It's a morning where you'll learn, in a practical, step-by-step way, how to film yourself without it being something you have to talk yourself into each time, how to know what to actually say and how to start using video in a way that doesn't require you to perform or pretend to be someone you're not.

I’m running this workshop alongside Nick from I Hate Social Media who's worked in television production for over 20 years, primarily for the BBC and Channel 4. He’ll be handling the technical side (phone settings, lighting, angles, equipment, etc.), and I'll be covering strategy and content planning.

It’s at the Waterside Centre, starting at 10.30am, and it’s just £50 per person. We are keeping it small so that we can give personalised support and guidance.

👉 Comment READY and I’ll DM you the link with more details
