I am an insured, CRB checked photographer based in Basildon and I specialise in newborn, older baby and cake smash photography, capturing every important milestone of your baby's first year. I'm also a mum of two little ones and I love the challenge of photographing young children! I have a comfortable and professional studio next to my home with facilities and easy parking.

Can we do family pictures at a cake smash?

Absolutely yes!

It's done right at the start of the session, against the cake smash set, and it's a lovely way to mark the occasion as a family.

But remember, the star of the show is your brithday boy or girl and it's a cake smash not a family photo shoot - if we spend ages on family pictures, your little one will be way too tired to get through the rest of the shoot!

So it's quick, simple, 5 minutes at the start of the shoot before the main attraction begins 😊

You know some babies are SO proud of their new-found ability to move around independently, that getting them to sit still for a photo shoot is a bit of a challenge to say the least 🤣 but it also makes for some GREAT action photos! And it captures who they are at this amazing age, so it's never a problem as far as I'm concerned!

We also captured some lovely sibling pictures with big sister Jiya (who is always amazing)!

I've been so excited to do a donut smash as we haven't done one for a few years now! Donut smashes are fantastic for babies as they're easy to grab and munch on, and for some babies a nice little pile of donuts is a bit less intimidating than a huge sweet cake. Mavie tucked right into hers 🥰

Albert 💙

A few years back I photographed Albert's big brother Eddie with a retro car theme (which was SO much fun to put together!) and mum wanted to contine the vintage theme with some of the props they'd used at their wedding. I love how this one came together!

Albert did a great job and loved the little cupcakes mum brought (he wasn't so keen on the big cake 🤣) We also got some beautiful sibling pictures with Eddie - scroll to the end for those 😍

When you're only a year old, all this fun gets a bit tiring 🩷 Mavie needed a nap mid-shoot, so of yourse we let her snooze and wake up refreshed and ready for her bath!

In my 13 years of cake smashing, I've only ever had one other baby fall asleep during a cake smash. And you want to know the weirdest thing? It was Mavie's big sister Marley 😁

Penelope 🩷

It feels like yesterday that Penelope was in the studio for her newborn shoot and here she is, a year old already! How quickly does that first year go?! She was a super smiley smasher and we had such a lovely time celebrating her first birthday with that gorgeous cake. And of course big brother Sebastian popped in for a couple of pictures too - always such a star! Happy birthday Penelope! 🌸
