There are weddings where couples just get you, and you get them. Hayley & Jack were one of those couples that just gave me everything.

Some days work because everything aligns – the couple, the venue, the people around them. This was one of those days.

Jess and Louis simply let me guide them through their day and their images, without a flicker of hesitation. That kind of trust changes everything about how a wedding photographs.

Some weddings have a feeling to them that's hard to put into words. This was one of those.

Morning prep was pure joy from the first moment. The kind of energy that tells you exactly what the rest of the day is going to be like. By the time the speeches came round, there genuinely wasn't a dry eye left in the room – family, friends, the lot.

The weather even played its part, sitting in that perfect goldilocks zone all day long.

They met at university. They spent years building a life and a friendship group that showed up – all 200 of them – on a 31 degree Saturday to watch them get married on the banks of the Swale estuary.

37 degrees. A twilight wedding. Lauren and Curtis.

It was one of the hottest days of the year and neither of them complained once. Just two people completely present in their day, regardless of the heat, the sweat, or the melting photographer behind the camera.

Lauren & Curtis. Creeksea Place, Essex.

Friday was 37 degrees. The kind of heat that slows everything down and makes the air shimmer. Not exactly ideal conditions for a wedding – or for the photographer carrying two camera bodies across an Essex manor.

But Lauren and Curtis were extraordinary. Composed, joyful, completely unbothered by the temperature in a way that made the whole day feel effortless despite everything the weather was throwing at everyone.

A twilight wedding means the best light comes last. And it delivered.
