Based in Barry, South Wales This is the section where most other photographers will tell you about themselves; what they do, why they do it, how many awards they have and so on and so forth. Let’s be honest, you don’t

really want to know about me (though if you do, I can tell you that I love animals and I’m quite partial to a glass of gin and tonic or two). Because that’s essentially what photography is, it’s a way of documenting portions of our lives that we can’t put down in words. It’s a way to share moments of our past with future generations so we can say ‘this is what I used to look like’. So how will you know if I’m the right photographer for your story? Read through the points below and if they sound like you, then you’ve found the right photographer. You love and appreciate beautifully crafted images. Quality is more important to you than quantity. You want a fun, relaxed photoshoot. You want some beautiful pieces of art to hang on the walls of your home. You want an experienced, trained, qualified photographer who will capture the images you want. You don’t want a hard sell at your viewing session. You want a photographer who can get great results in any situation. Attention to detail is important to you. Did you answer yes to most of those? Then congratulations, you’ve found your photographer! I am 100% obsessed with this sweet baby girl.
She came for her session at 4 weeks old but was still a few days away from her due date. And she was just perfect.
I always invite families to bring something meaningful to their session, and this little one's daddy brought along a necklace containing her great grandmother's ashes. She never got to meet her, but she'll carry her with her always.
I can't stop looking at this image. It's the perfect way to show your baby just how very tiny they were.

"No awkward posing."

I hear this a lot. Usually from photographers who haven't learned to pose.

This image is posed. Every element of it — her hands on his chest, the angle of her body into his, his arm drawing her in, where she's looking, where he's looking. All directed.

And none of it looks stiff. None of it looks forced.

Because that's what posing actually is, when you know how to do it.

It's not about making people stand like mannequins. It's about understanding body language, connection, and how to guide two people into something that feels completely natural, and photographs beautifully. These are the images that my clients favour every single time.

"No awkward posing" has become a marketing line for photographers who haven't done the work to learn direction. The awkwardness people want to avoid isn't caused by posing. It's caused by a photographer who doesn't know how to pose.

Don't avoid posing. Learn it.

Why I'm a full service photographer (and why it matters to you)

When you book me, you're not just booking a photographer for an hour. You're getting the whole experience, right from your session all the way through to beautiful finished products you can actually hold, hang on your walls, and keep forever.

And that goes for everything I do. Whether it's your brand new baby, your squishy six month old who's just found their smile, your cheeky toddler who won't sit still, or the whole family together. Every session gets the same love and attention. And it doesn't stop once we've had our time together.

I want to be honest with you about digital files. They have their place, I'm not saying they don't. But a folder of digital images is just a collection of pixels at the end of the day. It's not a photograph. And I'm a photographer.
A lot of people come to me asking for all the digitals, or just the digitals, and I completely understand why. It's become the norm. But that's largely because cheap, inexperienced photographers who can't compete on quality have made it the norm. Offering hundreds of digital files for next to nothing is an easy way to make people feel like they're getting a great deal. You're not getting a great deal. You're getting a lot of pixels and no prints, and ten years from now you'll wish someone had done things differently for you.

Sending over a gallery link and calling it a day feels a bit like a baker handing you a bowl of batter and telling you to finish the cake yourself. The hard work is done but you've been left to sort out the rest on your own. That's not what I want for the people who trust me with these moments.
Prints and wall art are future proof. Digital files really aren't. Formats change, hard drives fail, phones get lost. And how many photos are already sitting on your phone that you haven't looked at in months or years?
Photos are meant to be seen. On your walls, in an album, in your hands. Not buried on a hard drive somewhere never seeing the light of day.

There's also just something really lovely about handing someone their printed photographs. The reaction you get in that moment is something you never get from sending a download link. That moment is one of my favourite parts of what I do. Aria's mummy cried happy tears when she saw her prints for the first time, saying 'I didn't expect them to be this good' and that made my heart so happy.

So yes, I'm a full service photographer. Because your family and these memories deserve more than a digital file.

I came across a post a few days ago from another wedding photographer talking about vendor attire at weddings. Apparently she'd been a guest at weddings where the photographer had turned up in sweat pants.
Now look, I get it. Comfort matters when you're on your feet for ten hours. But there's a limit.
I'm there in a professional capacity and I want to look like it. There's a time and a place for being casual and someone's wedding day isn't it. And it's worth remembering that I'm more than likely going to end up in the background of photos your guests have taken too, so how I look matters.
My outfit of choice is my navy jumpsuit and it ticks every box. It looks smart enough that I could blend in as a guest. It's comfortable. And crucially it doesn't restrict my movement, which matters more than you might think because at any given wedding you'll find me laying in grass, kneeling in sand, standing on chairs, climbing over things, or in one memorable case standing on the front of the wedding car to get the shot I'm after. (With the owner's full permission and a very helpful boost so I didn't fall off, I should add.)
Looking professional and being able to do my job properly shouldn't be two separate things. For me they go hand in hand.

Beautiful Amera-Mai who, at 4 weeks old, was an absolute dream to photograph.
She wasn't due to be born until Monday so she's still very tiny but she was just perfect.
This simple, neutral set-up worked beautifully for her.

This sweet girl was an absolute dream today.

Leo 100% understood the assignment during his headshot session. What a handsome and very lovley young man he is.
We got such a great range of images during the session.
I added in a reflector for this shot just to fill the shadows and give a cleaner, crisper image.

I'm now booking headshots from the end of June onwards.
