Steph & Curt, . 🌊

Wow! The most incredible day here in North Devon with an equally incredible couple, and their wonderful families and friends. In Steph’s words, their day was ‘magic’, and I am entirely in agreement - it really was something special. 🫶🏻

Speaking of magic, from start to finish, Steph and Curt made their dream day happen in just six months! The couple have long adored the coast, further enhanced by their love of jet skiing… so it was no surprise that a wedding by the sea was non negotiable! When a last minute date came up for this summer, they just had to snap it up!

In order to help pull their day together seamlessly, Steph’s sister Jen originally contacted me. She had seen our work on TikTok and both she and Steph loved that we were a father-daughter team, so she put me in touch with Steph and we set up a video call. I remember chatting all about their sunny, coastal plans on a very dark, rainy January evening, and just like magic, soon enough their dream day came true!

Steph and Curt are genuinely some of the most generous, willing, and kind hearted people. Considering we didn’t get to meet until the day itself, it was as if we had known them forever. They were such incredible sports and trusted us with capturing every second of the day, really prioritising their photos and having fun. We couldn’t have asked for more.

Thank you so very much Steph and Curt, alongside all of your loved ones. Your day was unforgettable and we feel so privileged to have been able to document it. 🫶🏻

Laura & Jacob, Saunton. ✨

A love that felt like it was straight out of a novel, and photographs that felt like cinematic stills from a romance film… what more could you ask for?

Laura and Jacob are the sweetest humans. They got engaged when they were just nineteen, and are beyond excited to be marrying one another next year.

Photographing them was easy… They barely needed any direction at all, instead I just spent time with them, observing and allowing things to unfold.

From the moment we met on that hazy golden hour evening at Saunton, I quickly noticed how comfortable they were in one another’s presence. They have a quiet love, the kind that shows up in small gestures, but they are also fun and free spirited. My endeavour as a photographer is to pick up on these things, and to create imagery that looks and feels like you.

One of the highlights of the evening was when Jacob noted that he’d prefer to stay out of the sea for those last few photos… but somehow Laura had already grabbed his hands and the two of them ‘accidentally’ ended up running into the waves. The photos turned out beautifully and it was such an unprompted moment.

Thank you so much Laura and Jacob for being so wonderful to photograph, I cannot wait for your wedding day. 🫶🏻

Jess & Cameron, Saunton. 🌙✨

The most fun pre wedding session at Saunton earlier this week with the awesome (and incredibly hilarious) Jess and Cam, who get hitched later this year. These two are SO much fun - in fact, you’d be hard pressed to find a photo without them laughing their heads off.

From the moment we met, it was like I’d known them forever. We got along so well, and just like their pre wedding video call, their session flew by in a flash (but maybe that was just all the running around we did!)

Since rain had threatened to dampen our golden hour evening plans, we decided to push the shoot back to the following morning - where we were lucky to have a one hour window of dry weather! Jess and Cam couldn’t have been more flexible and it paid off, the light was perfect, their photoshoot was tons of fun and we practically had the beach to ourselves.

Jess tells me she had followed me on TikTok for about three years before enquiring, and they actually ended up booking me before they chose their venue! I can’t tell you how much that meant to me 🥹

Thank you so much Jess and Cam for being the most easy-going, fun couple. I can’t wait for your wedding day! 🤩

Amy and Owen, .

Where to begin with Amy and Owen’s beautiful wedding in the Devon countryside? This was our very first time photographing at this stunning Grade II listed Georgian Manor House, and it truly was beautiful. We spent the day with some of the loveliest people we have had the fortune to meet. Each room was full to the brim with love for the couple, and everyone was in such high spirits, even when rain threatened to dampen their plans… to the point that guests were playing hoopla and jenga in the rain, Aperol spritz in hand. The best people for the best day. 🫶🏻

Amy and Owen, there truly aren’t enough words to express our gratitude to you both. Shilstone is a stunning venue, but the people always make a wedding, and you two are no exception. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness, and a marriage filled with love and laughter. 💜

What I get up to when I’m not behind the camera. 🐴

After getting home at midnight from yesterday’s beautiful wedding in south Devon, I was up at the crack of dawn today to get ready for our first ever dressage tests! When I’m not photographing or editing, you will probably find me with my pony Bean. We have been putting in the hours to prepare for today and it paid off - we even got a rosette!

Very grateful to my lovely dad who stopped by to watch our tests and took these photographs of us, which I know I will cherish.

What a fab weekend, doing all the things I love. 🫶🏻

Recent work for the beautiful . 💍

I’ve had the privilege of working with Bath-based female-founded jewellery designer Holts Jewellery since 2020, and earlier this year I was entrusted with creating a range of photographs to celebrate their fantastic relaunch. I am overjoyed to be able to share these images and to have been a visual part of the rebranding process.

Founded by Melissa Holt DGA, Melissa’s love for antique jewellery is what has helped shape her very own Celeste Diamond collection, a range of lab diamond creations, consciously created through solar energy. Drawing upon the antique cuts and styles she’s collected over the years, the Celeste Diamond collection sustainably brings antique and vintage looks into the 21st century.

This shoot required keen attention to detail to help create a dynamic and engaging range of photographs to help support the relaunch. From focus on the new packaging materials, to both static and interactive images of the rings in the collection. Experimenting with harsh and soft light lighting encouraged a fashion-forward approach, reflecting a modern take on these vintage-inspired pieces.

Most importantly it was such an honour to be asked to create these images. Melissa has gone from strength to strength over the years and I am so inspired by her dedication to her craft.

Hello! I’m Grace Elizabeth! 👋🏻

It’s been a while, so I thought it might be time to reintroduce myself! (Perhaps some of you may not have recognised me without my dungarees! 😉)

I’ve photographed over 225 weddings and have been a photographer for 14 years this year - which is almost half of my time on this earth! I have the absolute privilege of working alongside my lovely dad Chris, who is my second shooter at all of our full day wedding bookings. My dad has been working with me since 2023, and is very much loved by all of our couples. I can genuinely say I couldn’t do half of what I do without him! He has a wonderful ability to notice the smaller moments that may have otherwise gone unseen, as well as finding unique extra angles, and taking those lovely cocktail hour portraits you all adore! Quite simply, my dad is a gem and I’m very grateful that I get to create memories for you all whilst creating memories with him in the process. 🫶🏻

When I’m not photographing or editing, you will almost definitely find me with my pony, Bean, or with my partner and our rescue dogs. I’m a real homebody, and I value the simple things in life - a cup of tea and a slice of cake can put the world to rights! I’m not really a travel-bug and my passport isn’t full of stamps from exotic countries… I’d rather be at home here in North Devon.

I feel that my purpose in life is to connect with people and to tell their stories through the photographs I take. It’s a great privilege to be invited into people’s lives and asked to document a small snippet of their story. It’s something I never take for granted.

Photographs are one of the only things whose value grows in time. Our goal? To take photographs that will one day outlive us.

Ellie, Jay and their four legged friends Monty and Marley. 🐾

I had such a fun morning over the bank holiday weekend, getting to meet and photograph Ellie, Jay and their best friends. Ellie messaged me last year about booking a couple session with one simple request: ‘please could you take loads of photographs of our dogs?’ Of course I was happy to oblige!

After rain threatened to halt our plans, we rescheduled our evening golden hour session to the morning, where we were blessed with calm blue skies - and even a bit of sunshine! It couldn’t have been better timing as the heavens opened (and stayed open!) for the rest of the afternoon!

Ellie and Jay were such naturals in front of the camera, and their dogs had me in fits of laughter. Monty the golden doodle was such a chilled dude, and for every ounce of calm he possesses, Marley the spaniel made up for it in boundless energy. 🤣

Thank you Ellie and Jay for coming such a long way to meet me, I had a blast with you all! 🫶🏻

Blue hour at . 🌙

Natalie and Owen’s coastal wedding in April was just beautiful. Our very first wedding of the year and we couldn’t have wished to have spent it with a more wonderful couple.

When a golden hour sunset wasn’t looking promising, we headed to the clifftops to catch blue hour instead. The unexpected bright blue spring skies we had seen earlier in the day finally faded into calm hues of pastel blue and jewel toned greens, contrasting against the rocks, whilst the occasional seagull danced around us in the skies. This part of the day was certainly one of my favourites, it was so lovely to give Natalie and Owen some time together to breathe, while photographing them against the stunning backdrops that Watermouth has to offer.

You can read more about Natalie and Owen’s experience with us on the last slides. ☺️

Forever grateful for this job, and for the wonderful people we are blessed to work with.

The reason I don’t share all of my work online.

The reason probably isn’t what you’re thinking. It’s not because I don’t want to. Or because the photographs don’t ‘fit’ into my feed. It’s actually got nothing to do with me, and has everything to do with you.

- First and foremost, it’s your decision (and legal right) whether you’d prefer to keep your photographs private, or if you’re happy for me to share some. There’s no expectation or pressure from me!
- Secondly, my goal as a photographer is to create photographs for *you*, not for social media.

In recent years I have become more disconnected with social media, and I’ve seen this reflected in my clients too. As someone who regularly used to share many aspects of her life online, more recently I value privacy, and many of my clients feel the same.

Somewhere along the way, it feels as though the online world has become less about sharing carefree snippets of our lives - and more about consuming highly curated content. As a creative, we contribute to that conversation, and at times, this has made me feel uneasy. From conversations with wedding clients who have felt pressured by social media to have the ‘perfect’ day, to those with children who have genuine concerns about sharing their identities online, and others who have quit social media altogether.

I believe the focus should always be about serving my clients - and that means offline, not online. Sharing online shouldn’t be an expectation, nor should it be the driving force behind our creativity.

As photographers, each person we meet and each story we get to tell is a privilege. Sharing those personal moments should be a gift, not a given.
