Liana and Trystan, L***y Glaze Beach Weddings. 🌻

My goodness, what an absolute corker of a day we had with the fantastic Liana and Trystan down in Cornwall. These two are sunshine personified, and their wedding was the most beautiful extension of who they are as people. It really was the most incredible day - so much so that my cheeks ached from spending the entire day smiling. 🥹

This was also such a heartfelt, personal day. From Liana’s countless DIY projects, to seeing the couple literally ‘tying the knot’, to choreographed dancing (so beautiful!), to a surprise saxophone concert from Liana’s dad which totally captivated the audience, and finishing with a sunset of dreams… this wedding had it all. You could see how much love and work had gone into this day, and you could feel it all day long too.

When I left Liana and Trystan’s wedding at the stunning, very sunny L***y Glaze in Newquay, and made my descent upon the many steps to the top, I remember just standing, looking back over the private cove, now dark and adored by fairy lights. I paused for a second, taking it all in, and thought how amazing it is that this is my job. Being welcomed with open arms into people’s lives, offered to photograph the happiest day of their lives together so far… What a genuine privilege and honour.

Emily & Gary, Windout Barn. 🪶

The most joyful, colourful, cracker of a day with the fantastic Emily and Gary. I mean, how cool are they?!

With Lord of the Rings music calmly wafting through the air and the sun scorching your skin, you could easily mistake yourself for being in middle earth, but this fairytale actually took place on a gorgeous farm deep in the Devon countryside. When you arrive, the first inhabitants to greet you are the venue’s resident dog and cat, and probably a swallow or two, but you’ll soon be welcomed with open arms into the cosy, fairy-light adorned barn, where you’ll find local ales on tap and a treasure hunt - if you so fancy it!

Emily and Gary are genuinely two of the most vibrant people we have photographed (and that’s not just because of the smoke flares!) - they put SO much work into this wedding. Emily designed a glitter / tattoo bar (especially popular with the younger guests!), DIY’ed all of her dried flowers, and obviously being keen festival go-ers, her sparkly doc martens were non negotiable. And, when it came to food, my goodness it was a feast! Graze by Dish put on a splendid spread.

We covered just four hours of their wedding day but it was absolutely jam packed and we had SUCH a blast! 💥

A few more photographs from our wedding. 🐴

I can’t believe it’s been four weeks today since we got married! Being on the other side of the wedding industry was such an incredible experience. Even though I’ve been a wedding photographer for 14 years, I still learned so much along the way and I have so much more patience and understanding for those of you also planning your weddings. It really is a whirlwind.

It was also fun to keep our plans to get married very low key. When we got engaged, I had toyed with the idea of publicly sharing my journey as a bride, especially as we managed to pull the wedding together in just seven months, which I thought was quite unique, but ultimately I decided I wanted to keep the experience personal and offline - and I’m so glad I did. It really gave me time to process and take in everything - because my goodness there are a LOT of emotions! In a day and age where so much of our lives is posted online and in real time, it was very special to keep everything offline and to really be in the present moment. 🫶🏻

Lastly, my biggest secret (and a surprise for the guests!) was that my horse Bean was there. It was a dream come true to have him at the wedding, and after many hours of preparations by my maid of honour (she was up bathing and plaiting him at 5am!) he confidently walked down the aisle with one of my bridesmaids. This horse has changed my life in more ways than I can count, so it was really important to me to have him there. Our wedding day was also a year since he came into my life (which was a total accident!), so it felt like a celebration of him too!

I’m so incredibly thankful to Thomas Stewart our wonderful photographer, hailing all the way from Australia, who captured every single moment of our wedding more beautifully than I could’ve ever imagined. I’m still on cloud nine even now! ☁️

Amy and Alex. 🌞

With personalities that beam through them like sun rays, it’s a fact: you can’t help but be happy in the presence of these wonderful humans. I had the best time at Saunton a few weeks ago with these joyful souls, exploring the sand dunes and soaking in the sunset.

As soon as I met Amy and Alex we hit it off right away - it felt like I’d known them forever. Our chats about house renovations ultimately became the thread that took this session from start to finish, and was actually the subject matter that actually caused the belly laughter in the first photo. 🤣 Why you ask? Well, whilst posing for a photo I said ‘oh this photo would look lovely on a mantelpiece!’ To which Amy and Alex replied: ‘Grace, we don’t even have a mantelpiece!’ 🤣 I don’t think I have laughed quite as much as I did that evening for a long time!

Amy and Alex, thank you for being absolutely yourselves in front of my lens. It really was such a fantastic evening and I cannot wait for your wedding day now! May it be equally as chaotic and fun as your pre wedding session! 🫶🏻

Scarlett and Luke. 🌊

I am struggling to find the words to describe what an incredible pre wedding session this was. When the sea mist unexpectedly rolled in after weeks of scorching sun, Scarlett jokingly said ‘We don’t have a golden hour, we are never making the Instagram grid now!’ - but I beg to differ… Wow, how absolutely inspiring the weather was for their session at Saunton! It was so atmospheric and I love that it challenged me creatively! 💜

Scarlett and Luke are truly such wonderful humans, and I can’t wait for their autumnal wedding in October. They spent the entire session with smiles on their faces despite getting pretty rainswept towards the end. They were so easy to get along with too, it felt like I had known them forever!

Thank you so much to you both for being so wonderful and for making the most of some adverse conditions! Here’s to your wedding day! 💜

Solar eclipsin’ with Meaylee and Mark. 🌙

What a fun evening with another of my 2027 couples - and in a new location too! With everyone descending upon Saunton beach to watch the solar eclipse, we made a last minute decision to head to the lesser known Braunton Burrows instead. It was such a fun landscape to work with, at times it looked like another planet! 🪐

Meaylee and Mark are such a lovely couple, who met through their love of dogs. When I asked why they hadn’t brought their pups to the session, they said it would be ‘chaotic and hard to choose’… as they have not one, not two, but seven dogs! From golden to flat coated retrievers, most of the couple’s spare time is absorbed by their four legged friends (or 28 legs in this case!) - and as a fellow dog lover myself, I can totally relate! 💜

We had so much fun exploring the vast landscape, and Mark became our tour guide as my sense of direction is genuinely terrible. 🤣

Thank you so much to you both for coming to meet me, it was so cool to do a shoot whilst a solar event was happening too! 🌙

Meg, Lewis and Oakley. 🐾

Another super Saunton sunset session with one of my fab 2027 couples and their golden four legged friend Oakley… This session was just dreamy! ☁️

When Meg and Lewis asked if their spaniel Oakley (who has his very own account Oakley & Meg) could come along, the answer was ‘absolutely yes!’ He was such a good boy and the adoration he has for his humans beams out of him! 🥹 The little photo of Meg’s ring with their paw still melts me!

We explored the sand dunes (and mostly avoided having and thrown into our faces!) and found hidden pockets of light everywhere we went. It was one of the most gorgeous evenings I’ve seen at this beach, and Meg and Lewis were so easy to photograph. They were SO much fun and got totally stuck in - which resulted in a really dynamic range of photographs!

Thank you so much for coming to meet me, I had the best time with you all and I can’t wait for your wedding next year! 🌞

A super sunny Saunton evening with two equally sunny humans… oh, and a couple of cameos from seagulls and military planes. ✈️

It was so lovely to meet up with Jenna and Sam, who drove over four hours to meet me for their pre wedding session! After a mostly rainy day we were finally blessed with blue skies, and we had so much fun exploring the beach - even with blustery winds! I think Sam must’ve manifested the good weather with his iconic Hawaiian shirt - apparently one of many! 🌺

They are such a sweet couple, and I’m so excited to be photographing their wedding next year.

Such a glorious summer evening spent with this wonderful couple at Westward Ho! - celebrating time together and a new little love on the way. 🥹

Steve has visited Westward Ho! since he was a child, and, as a couple, it has long been a location they have loved very much. Now with two little ones and another on the way, it was really sweet to create some couple photos of just the two of them. Whilst grandparents looked after the tiny tots, they said it was a treat for them to have a bit of time together as a couple, so I feel very grateful that they chose to spend that hour with me in their favourite place. 💜

Thank you so much Steve and Ruth for choosing me to document this very special time in your lives, I’m so excited for you both. 🫶🏻
