‼️Business Update‼️

Just a quick business update for all my couples.

Im up to date with editing, so everyone who's already said their "I do's", should have their full day galleries by now. Hope you all like them.

For the next couple of weeks, im taking a step back from editing and albums, etc.....the things that go on behind the scenes, and im concentrating on my personal life.

Dont worry if you have me booked for your wedding over the next couple of weeks, your bookings wont change and ill still be there to tell your stories. But im just taking a step back from my day to day studio jobs for the time being.

If you have albums still waiting for previews, etc, ill be in touch in a few weeks.

This looked incredible in person…
…but the finished photo somehow looked even more unreal.

We used cold spark fireworks, dry ice, reflections, and a little wedding-day magic for this one.

There’s something incredibly special about the moment a couple finally gets that quiet minute together… just married, hand in hand, soaking it all in 🤍

Bethany & Lewis’ beautiful wedding at Rogerthorpe Manor on the 20th May was full of those moments.

The nervous smiles before the ceremony.
The way Lewis looked at Bethany walking down the aisle.
The happy tears during the day.

It wasn’t just a wedding day… it felt like watching two best friends celebrate the beginning of the next chapter surrounded by everyone they love most.

Rogerthorpe Manor gave us the dreamiest backdrop for romantic portraits, but honestly, it was the little in-between moments that made this day unforgettable — the stolen glances, the laughter, the tight hand squeezes when nobody else was watching.

“Smoke bombs at weddings… amazing idea or total disaster? 💨👀”

As a wedding photographer, I’ve seen both.

When they work?
The photos can look INCREDIBLE 🔥

But what couples don’t always realise is they can also:
❌ Stain dresses
❌ Be banned by venues
❌ Fail in bad weather
❌ Cause complete chaos if badly timed 😅

Honestly, some couples LOVE them…

Others wish they’d skipped the trend completely.

The secret?
Good planning, the right location, and not forcing a Pinterest moment just because it looks cool online 📸

There’s something incredibly special about watching two people completely relax into the moment together ❤️

Last Saturday, 9th May 2026, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Luke and Lloyd’s beautiful wedding at Mitton Hall and around the stunning Cromwell Bridge. From the quiet moments before the ceremony to the laughter echoing through the countryside gardens as the evening light softened over the hall, the whole day felt effortlessly full of love, warmth, and genuine connection.

And do you know what Luke and Lloyd told me before the wedding? That they were worried about feeling awkward in front of the camera.

Honestly, around 95% of my couples say exactly the same thing — that they don’t feel photogenic or comfortable being photographed. And that’s completely normal. My job isn’t to make you “pose perfectly”… it’s to help you feel relaxed enough to simply enjoy your day together 😊

The best photos always come from real moments.

Planning your wedding and worried your venue might not allow confetti? Don’t panic—there are plenty of fun alternatives that still look amazing in photos.

At this recent wedding at Wharfedale Grange, guests threw **pompoms** as the couple exited their ceremony, and it created such a colourful, joyful moment. Other great options I often see as a Yorkshire wedding photographer include **sparklers** for evening celebrations and **smoke bombs** for something a little more dramatic.
