Did you ever think about what to tell your wedding photographer before the big day??👇

Well, I don’t need to know every tiny detail, but a few important things can make the day feel much smoother.

Things I always ask my couples before their wedding:

1. Any family situations I should be aware of
2. The most important people in your day
3. Any surprise moments or special plans
4. Photos that really matter to you, or any photo inspiration you love
5. Anything you feel nervous about
6. If you’re thinking about a first look, love letters, or any special getting-ready moments
7. The little details you’ve worked hard on

The more I understand your day, the better I can photograph it in a way that feels natural, relaxed and true to you.

It’s not about making a huge shot list.

It’s about helping me notice what matters most.

I hear this all the time and honestly, it’s completely normal.🤗

Most couples are not used to being in front of the camera, so you don’t need to know how to pose.

You just need to be yourselves. 🤪

You don’t need to be a model to have beautiful wedding photos. 🙈😊

Honestly, most couples tell me the same thing before a shoot:

“We’re not good in front of the camera.” 🤭

And that’s completely normal.

You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need to act romantic. You don’t need to be perfect. 😻

You just need to be yourselves, and I’ll gently guide you when needed. 😎📸

The best photos usually happen when you relax, laugh, forget about the camera for a moment… and just enjoy being together.

That’s when the real magic happens. 🪄🧙‍♂️

Do we really need a pre-wedding shoot? 🧐

That’s a question many couples have before booking one, and honestly… I get it.

At first, it might sound like just another photoshoot before the wedding. 🙃

But from my experience, for most couples, it’s actually the first time they’ve had a proper photoshoot together.

So it’s not just about the photos, it’s about getting comfortable, having a laugh, and realising it doesn’t have to feel awkward. 😁🥰

A pre-wedding shoot gives us time to get to know each other properly, have a good time together, and help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera, without the pressure of the wedding day around you. 💃🕺

You also get to see how I work, how I guide you, and how relaxed the whole thing can actually feel.

I met Adam & Sophie in York for their pre-wedding shoot, and it was such a lovely morning walking around the city, chatting, laughing and creating some natural photos before their big day. 📸🥳

They’re getting married in August with a beautiful tipi-style wedding, and after spending this time with them, I’m even more excited to photograph their day. 🤩🤩

And of course, you also get beautiful photos you can use for your invites, wedding website, decor, signs, or simply as memories before the big day.

So no, a pre-wedding shoot is not just about photos.

It’s about feeling ready, relaxed and more like yourselves when the wedding day arrives.

We met at 7am hoping for golden hour, but the clouds had other plans 😅

Still, after a coffee, a wedding day chat, and a walk through the park, we captured some really lovely moments together 📸
