📍Glenfinnan Viaduct

Nested in the rolling hills at the top of Loch Shiel you will find the beautiful Glenfinnan Viaduct. If you’re really lucky and get your timings right and aren’t late getting off a ferry you might see the enchanting Jacobite steam train passing overhead. In our case, we did see the steam train on the viaduct, but from below and between the trees 😅

Oh well, I suppose that’s just an excuse for another visit!

I am now taking bookings for 2022 outdoor family photoshoot sessions!

Get out of the generic photo studio, get off the floor laying with your head in your hands, and step away from the black & white canvasses and get into the great outdoors!! 🌅🏞

The possibilities are endless and each 1 hour session is completely different from the last; bring your kids, bring your partner, bring your pets - it’s all doable 😀 If you have a local beauty spot that’s special to you and your family, lets go! If you’re easy like a Sunday morning then I’ll take you to one 🥰

Autumn on Derwent Isle:

This is the only inhabited island in the Lake District and it’s open to visitors for 5 days a year, who are encouraged to make their way to the Island by canoe. The house was built in the 18th century by an eccentric man called Joseph Pocklington, but before then the Island has been home to German miners who came to work in the local area. They built a camp on the island and kept animals, grew vegetables and even brewed beer!

The quaint little Ashness bridge, with Derwentwater poking through the trees in the background.

I parked right at the bottom of this hill and slowly plodded my way up to the bridge, not realising that there was parking literally over the road from it 😅. I suppose I need the exercise tho, and got some lovely photos of the road weaving through the fallen leaves on the way back down, so all’s well that ends well 😁

‘The twelve gulls of Derwentwater’.

Finally… FINALLY, I managed to get out and about with my camera on a super lovely, chill adventure around the lakes. I had such a good time visiting Thirlmere and Keswick - it’s easy to forget sometimes how good it is for the soul to have fresh air, no phone signal and gorgeous scenery 🖤
