Photo restoration - can you do it?

This is a question we get asked all the time.
It does depend on how faded the images are and these are pretty far gone so to get them back as good as we have is a job well done I would say.

More importantly our client was over the moon and in his words “sure they’re as good as new” - and that is all that matters 🙂.

These 2 absolutely stunning pieces left this week for their forever home. Momentos from a recent holiday they have been given the 5 star treatment. They really need to be seen in person to be appreciated.

The elephants is in a 78mm wide ferrous black solid wood frame which is perfect as it’s more of a charcoal black and doesn’t overpower the image perhaps like a solid jet black would. It is approx 5 foot wide before the frame so a substantial piece.

The lion cub piece is in a 60mm wide storm coloured solid wood frame with hints of silver throughout completely pulling the eye in to the centre of the image.

Both pieces have been finished with our superior art glass - and yes! There is glass in them both. The beauty of this glass is that it is so transparent unlike years ago non reflective was used which had a haze at the back. This dulled the colours whereas the art glass we now use keeps them vibrant and has a high ratio of UV protection to prevent against fading and also gives little to no reflection head on.

Wow just look at this amazing portrait we recently framed for a very happy customer.

Another beautiful piece that left recently - framed in an antique wood style frame with a gold inner to the frame, float mounted for a 3D effect and matched with a black
Mount with a v- groove (Nigel is particularly fond of a v-groove), which is perfect for the piece - and coupled with our art glass which has uv protection, it keeps the colours crystal sharp and prevents fading. Absolutely stunning and another happy client 🙂.
