Hugh Rooney Photography I have had a passion for photography most of my life. My website contains some of my favourite photographs taken over the past 20 years.

I hope you enjoy viewing the images. My photographs have been published in a number of publications including Amateur Photographer, and Black & White Photography magazines, and in the Friends of Creative Monochrome and Irish Photography Yearbooks. My images have been included in many exhibitions including the Royal Photographic Society's (RPS) Works of Distinction Exhibition in 2008 and the RPS 15

4th International Print Exhibition in 2011. I developed a love of Black & White photography using film and the traditional darkroom. Black & White photography remains my preferred style, and my favourite themes are Cities, Architecture and Landscapes. I have been an active member of my local camera club Bangor & North Down in Northern Ireland for more than 20 years. I obtained an Associateship of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS) in 2008. My ARPS panel is included in the Galleries section of my website. www.hughrooney.com

All photographs can be purchased from the gallery pages on my site. There are a range of products available including unmounted, framed and canvas prints. These are supplied by Loxley Colour one of the leading print labs in the UK. I can also supply Fine Art Black & White prints to meet specific requirements. I'm absolutely delighted that my photograph of the Vasco da Gama bridge in Lisbon was awarded top monochrome print at the Northern Ireland Photographic Association's 50th Anniversary celebration event this past weekend. Fantastic weekend and once again many thanks to everyone involved in organising it. Also congratulations to Darren Brown another member of Bangor Camera Club who was awarded top colour print.

For anyone who lives in and around Belfast the World Press Photo exhibition is in town. World Press Photo is the most prestigious exhibition of photojournalism in the world. Travelling to 100 cities in 45 countries each year, this is the first time in its 57-year history that the award-winning images have come to Northern Ireland.
