My dog got injured by another dog, the owners of the other didn't pay the vet bill and lied to the police about what happened!!!
Hello, the first post is not going to be a happy one as I will name and shame.
So last saturday around 3.30 pmI was walking my dogs on the Banff castle ground, ready to go back home when onecof my dogs got called, they both went to see the person who called them. I went to collect my dogs and saw Gillian (who more or less runs the castle) and his wife Jay (who is a dog walker notbsure if she still does that as a dog died under her supervision!!!!). They were with their big dog Harry, i don't know the breed but way bigger than a lab.
Mine are 2 chihuahuas, the pic below gives you an idea of my smaller one to their dog (on the pic, it's not Harry, not even the breed, just to give you an idea!)'
Gillian and Jay are sitting on the concrete gazeebo in front of the Castle entrance door, Harry when he sees me jumps on me, his 2 paws almost on my shoulders, Toto my bigger dog being pet by Jay. Buddy, the small one (just over 3 kilos) is barking for attention and he likes to bark!!.
Harry is now on the floor, not sure if he has his lead on but he is lying on Gillian feet on the floor.
Jay tries to pet Buddy, but he is scared of people he doesn't know so I tell her the story of friends coming earlier for coffee and cakes at mine, one of the guest tried to pet Buddy and he got scared and went for the fingers! He didn't bite, Buddy is a rehomed dog, we have had him for a year now, he barks, he is scated of new people, he would run and bark at you but he NEVER EVER bites!!!!!!! Hevdoes that to humans but not to dogs, he is actually social with other dogs. Jay still insist to pet him but with no results goes back to Toto. Buddy likes to be the center of everybody's attention so he barks because Jays is now ignoring him. After barking a bit, he decides I won't her attention so walks around and get closer to harry who was 1 meter axay the whole time.
Buddy gets very close to Harry and starts to smell him when all of a sudden, Harry without any warning jumps on him and start to bite him, he took at least 10 secondes for Gillian to remove his dog, so mine during this time got rolled over, badly treated and start to cry likea hurt dog.
I run for dog, take him from the ground, no visible injury so Jay says ' that's just a fright' after reconforting my dog for a minute, i realize there is blood in his right ear, i check a bit closer and it's nit nice, there is a triangle, shape of a tooth of skin off, the injury is quite deep, it didn't go through though, i decide to take him to the vet, Jay comes closer and says 'it's nothing he doesn't need a vet'
I leave with my dogs very annoyed, come back home, phone the vet in Banff but it's Saturday so i am redirect to Keith vet clinic, the vet says come right away so I phone Jay to keep her posted thinking that she would be interested in knowing what's happening with the dog her dog attacked and injured but no answer so i text her
39 minutes later, Buddy and I arrive at the vet in Keith, the vet checks Buddy, says it's deep but i won't stitch it as the ear is small but he says that I did the right thing to come as there is a great chance of infection, so 2 injections later, during which poor Buddy was shaking, scared and in pain, we go back home.
At home, i leave Buddy to rest, he has been so brave, poor little thing, and go to Jay and Gillian to tell them what happened and guve them the vet bill.
I pass the entrance door, go up the stairs to last floor, and only one word to describe rhe smell PESTILENCE, it smells so bad in the staircase dogs or cats poo and p*e, i have to cover my nose. I knock at th door, Gillian open and i tell him i have a bill and it would be nice if they pay for it ad their dog attacked mine, i even say that if it was only 50 pounds i would have paid it myself. He answers ' Jay will deal with it, she is not here'. I have the feeling he is lying as they told me at the Castle ground they would come back and have a glass of wine in their private garden, private garden which i checked on my way upbthe stairs to their place and there was nobody. I say ' should i leave the bill' he says 'no'
I g back home and then message Jay explaining about the injure and the bill, i attached a picture of the bill to the message and message a video with Buddy bloody ear so they can see how deep the injure is.
She textes me back some time after saying my dog attacked hers and she won't pay the bill and I should stop harassing her with my messages and she has a witness, i am surprised as it was only the 3 of us in the castle ground so she must soeak about Gilian. Only 3 very nice and polite messages were sent!!!
I went to the police and they say as i have no witness it's my version of what happened against theirs, the police woman read her message and says, if she tells me what she wrote in tjis message when i go and see them there is nothing i can do. She phoned me an hour after to say that their version was the one she messaged me and she couldn't do anything. Anyxay i ask her to repport the attact but the person responsible to record dog problems hascretired and hasn't been repkaced.
So i decided to name and shame as the behavioyr OGillian and Jay was disgusting and rhey lied to the police!!!! Please let me know what you think and give me your stories so i can share them!
