Not sure what’s worse- The 856 likes so far or the few comments from some believing it’s real!

Eilean Donan (Scottish Gaelic: Eilean Donnain) is a small tidal island where three sea lochs meet, Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Alsh, in the western Highlands of Scotland.

The castle was founded in the thirteenth century, and became a stronghold of the Clan Mackenzie and their allies the Clan Macrae. In the early eighteenth century, the Mackenzies' involvement in the Jacobite rebellions led in 1719 to the castle's destruction by government ships. Lieutenant-Colonel John Macrae-Gilstrap's twentieth-century reconstruction of the ruins produced the present buildings.

🌅 The Promise of a New Day At Balmedie Beach, Aberdeenshire 🌅

There’s something about watching the sunrise that always stirs something inside me. Maybe it’s the quiet before the world wakes up, or the way the sky slowly fills with color after the darkness. But every time, it reminds me that no matter how heavy life can feel, light always finds its way back.

Each sunrise feels like a gentle whisper from the universe - a reminder that it’s okay to begin again, to heal, to hope. Standing here, with the cool sand under my feet and the warmth of the first light touching the horizon, I feel both small and infinite.

“Every sunrise is an invitation for us to arise and brighten someone’s day.” – Richelle E. Goodrich

Here’s to new mornings, new strength, and the quiet beauty that reminds us we’re still here - and that’s enough. 💛

Morning at Loch Fada, Skye

Overlooking Loch Fada is the Old Man of Storr.

The Storr (Scottish Gaelic: An Stòr) is a rocky hill on the Trotternish peninsula of the Isle of Skye in Scotland. The hill presents a steep rocky eastern face overlooking the Sound of Raasay, contrasting with gentler grassy slopes to the west. The ‘Old Man’ is a large pinnacle of rock that stands high and can be seen for miles around.

Built in the 1500s, fought over by clans, and left to ruin — Ardvreck Castle has seen it all. Now it stands quietly on Loch Assynt, reflected in the water like a scene from another time.

Would you explore it? 👀

Sometimes all you need is a moment of peace. ✨

The gentle flow of the River Sligachan is the perfect counterpoint to the dramatic peaks of Sgùrr Alasdair and the Black Cuillin behind it. ⛰️

There’s nothing quite like the raw beauty of the Isle of Skye.

Who else has a trip to Skye at the top of their list?

Sunrise at the Ring of Brodgar, Orkney 🌅

Few places feel as timeless as the Ring of Brodgar at first light. As the sun slowly rises over the loch, the ancient standing stones stand silhouetted against a sky painted in deep oranges, purples and blues — a scene that feels almost untouched by time itself.

Believed to date back over 4,500 years, the Ring of Brodgar is one of Orkney’s most iconic prehistoric monuments and part of the Heart of Neolithic Orkney UNESCO World Heritage Site. Standing here at sunrise, surrounded by history, silence and the changing light, it’s easy to understand why this place leaves such a lasting impression on everyone who visits.

Moments like this remind you that Orkney isn’t just beautiful… it’s magical. ✨

Sunset at The Brough of Birsay, Orkney 🌅

As the last light of the day fades across the Atlantic, the Brough of Birsay stands quietly against another incredible Orkney sunset. From above, you can see not only the tidal island itself, but also the historic ruins of the Earl’s Palace and the peaceful beauty of Birsay village stretching along the coastline.

The Brough has witnessed centuries of history — from early Christian settlers and powerful Pictish fortresses to Norse occupation and the remains of the 12th-century St Peter’s Church that still stand today. It’s a place where every stone has a story, and evenings like this make it feel timeless.

One of those locations that reminds you just how special Orkney really is. 💜
